“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Tuhina Goyal is the founder of House of Tuhina. She is a textile and fashion design graduate from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. She doesn’t call herself a fashion designer since she does not abide by any percepts of fashion. Her designs are timeless and are not bound by ever-changing fashion trends.

What is your wellness philosophy?

Wellness has to be both mental and physical. A healthy mental space directly affects our physical state. Being happy is the key to solving most of one’s miseries. Having a healthy open mindset, free from negativities and judgments, is the only way to live a fulfilled life.

Your success mantra?

The only success mantra in my life is to never give up. The ability to believe in- ‘ This too shall pass ‘ has been the key to withstand adverse situations. Everything has a shelf life, and so does bad time.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

‘Mistakes‘ have helped me develop faith if after intense planning, something doesn’t work for me, instead of getting disappointed. I take it as an indication from the higher power, guiding me towards another direction, which is far beyond my vision and will help me achieve my goal.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

Being a woman is not a weakness. Know who you are. You must have some vision for your life. Even if you don’t know the plan, you need to know the direction in which you wish to go. You want to be in the driver seat of your life, else life will drive you and you might not like that.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

My biggest pride is that I am in the driving seat of my own life. No one, but myself can be the cause of my success or failure.
