6 Essential Tips To Slow Down Face Aging After 30s

Beauty aficionado Shahnaz Husain shares with GlobalSpa her six essential tips for slowing down aging with wrinkles and fine lines on your face post-30s.

You may notice signs of ageing in your 30s – wrinkles and fine lines on your face. It is caused by the natural ageing process due to reduced collagen production. Various other factors, including sun exposure, pollution, and certain lifestyle behaviours, might aggravate this process.

The skin becomes less elastic and drier as you age because the skin starts losing moisture when you step into your 30s. You can simply slow down the process of skin ageing with proper care and a few lifestyle adjustments. Here are some essential tips to reduce wrinkles and fine lines on your face as you enter your 30s.

● Avoid exposure to the sun

Constant UV exposure causes accelerated aging, hyperpigmentation, and enlarged pores. Wearing sunscreen with an SPF of at least 25 when going outside is the key to keeping your skin protected from heavy loss of moisture.

● Use gentle cleanser

You must be very cautious about using the same products over a longer duration. The one you would have used in your 20s or early 30s may now respond to your skin differently; causing damage and making you look older. So, it is time to switch to softer alternatives as per the current needs. This change in the product will help your skin retain its natural oils and give you a healthy glow.

● Moisturize your skin

Dry and dehydrated skin can enhance wrinkles and fine lines. Proper moisturisation of the skin can help to slow down the ageing process. If you have dryness prone skin, then use a moisturizer immediately after every shower to lock in moisture.

● Keep your body hydrated

Hydrating your internal organs will have a noticeable impact on your skin’s health. You should consider taking a daily supplement that promotes healthy and hydrated cells in addition to drinking 3-4 litres of water from morning to night. Collagen and Vitamin E, in particular, aid in the appearance of healthy and revitalized skin. Almonds and walnuts, which contain omega 3, can also be useful in nourishing your skin.

● Take proper sleep

Sleep is essential because it allows the skin to regenerate and refresh itself after hours of exposure to various external stimuli. Damaged cells can heal themselves, thanks to an increase in the growth of the desired hormones. In your 30s, not getting enough sleep can cause big bags under your eyes, dryness, and more apparent wrinkles. Sleeping for 6-8 hours might help your skin look younger.

● Make regular exercise a habit

Even if you’re preoccupied with your work schedule, make it a point to exercise on a regular basis. Post thirty; your skin begins to droop. Exercising on a daily basis can help maintain your body’s health as well as prevent your skin from drooping.

Fine lines and wrinkles are an inexorable part of growing older, but by following these tips, you can slow down the progression of existing wrinkles and prevent the formation of new ones.

Furthermore, lifestyle habits such as eating a vitamin-rich diet, drinking lots of water, protecting your skin from the sun, avoiding smoking, and controlling your mental stress, all have a role in maintaining a young and nourished skin.
