This year, the Met Gala’s theme celebrates the Costume Institute’s latest exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” with guests dressed in the official theme of ‘The Garden of Time,’ inspired by a J.G. Ballard short story. Unlike the previous year’s event, which honoured Karl Lagerfeld with a plethora of black-and-white ensembles, preppy pearls, and bows, this year’s gala exudes an ethereal, soft, and coquettish energy.
