5 Ways To Protect Your Skin’s Glow From Heat Waves

When the heat saps our vigour and dehydrates the body during the blistering hot six months, we are all enslaved by air conditioners, and hereby arrives skin’s woes. Beauty aficionado Shahnaz Husain shares with GlobalSpa her beauty tips that can help survive the hot summer months, especially the excruciating heat waves!

1. MUST APPLY SUNSCREEN

Applying sunscreen is a must while visiting a sunny place. Even in the wintertime, sunscreen can be advantageous. It prevents skin from ageing, maintains hydration and brightness, reduces wrinkles, and prevents dryness and grease – all of which are produced by solar radiation.

The best way to protect oneself from the sun is to apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before leaving the house. This technique helps the sunscreen to dry and permeate the skin. In this manner, you’ll avoid more damage and reduce the amount of tan. Moreover, it is recommended to use sunscreen with an SPF of 25, 40 or 60. For oily skin, use sunscreen gel of SPF 20.

2. WATERPROOF AND LIGHTWEIGHT MAKEUP

Nobody desires sticky eyelids or makeup that melts into their skin. To get a summer-friendly look without having to worry about your makeup spreading, choose lightweight makeup products. Swap your liquid foundation with a powder-based foundation or even a little BB cream for a radiant, fresh look. Use waterproof mascaras, lip and cheek tints, and blushes that allow your skin to breathe while they work their magic to avoid panda eyes.

3. CLEANSE, TONE, AND MOISTURISE ON A REGULAR BASIS

Our pores open in the summer due to more secretion of sebum, the skin’s natural oil. Blackheads and breakouts are caused by excessive hardened oil, sweat and dirt clogging the pores. The wash, tone, and moisturise beauty routine is not only the most basic but also the most effective method of skincare. Apply a light cleanser, toner, and moisturiser according to your skin type once a week, followed by a moderate exfoliator to get rid of dry cells developing on the surface of your skin.

4. USE MILD SCRUBS

In summers, our pores expand due to more secretion of oil. Due to excessive sweat and impurities, these pores get blocked, resulting in blackheads and breakouts. Furthermore, summer dust and pollution can make your skin seem dull. It is recommended that a scrub should be used to remove dead cells, grime and pollutants from face and body.

You may also make your own scrub. One of the most simple and effective scrubs is sea salt. In a mixing dish, combine two teaspoons of sea salt, one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, and a few drops of olive oil. Combine the ingredients and rub them into your face and neck gently in a circular motion. Rinse thoroughly with warm water after 20 minutes. While sea salt will remove any residue, lemon will help to brighten the skin’s appearance.

5. STAY HYDRATED image 3

The most cost-effective and easiest way is to remain hydrated and drink enough water on a regular basis. It not only cools but also cleanses your system. H2O is great for your skin and hair, giving you a sparkling lustre all year.

You can use rosewater to tone the skin on your face. Rosewater helps to keep your skin looking healthy and youthful. During the summer, keep fresh rosewater in the refrigerator and spritz it on your face several times a day for radiant skin. Despite the scorching weather, this beauty trick will help you notice immediate results on your skin, brightening, smoothing, and hydrating dull skin.

Furthermore, including herbal items in your skincare routine is typically a smart idea. Even better are items that may be found in your kitchen that can significantly improve your skin. Also, never go outside in the scorching heat without wearing a hat or a scarf to protect your skin and hair. Stay safe and stay glowing!
