Manjul Gupta is a beauty & wellness pioneer with over 30 years of experience. She is the Founder and Director of Bodycraft Salon and Spa.
What is your wellness philosophy?
Looking good & feeling good go hand in hand. Wellness goes beyond physical wellbeing. It is being comfortable in your own skin, your state of mind, emotional & overall sense of wellbeing. It is doing what makes you happy, and living your life to the fullest on your own terms.
Your success mantra?
In the business, my idea of success and growth is twofold. Keeping up to the ‘feel beautiful’ promise, with the best quality services and products, while we have expanded over the years is one side. Combined with taking care of our employees, giving them a path to growth and success is my success mantra.
A lesson you learned from making a mistake?
Every day is a learning and that we can make many mistakes. I have learnt that mistakes happen and it is important to accept the mistake, apologise and move past those mistakes so that we can learn from them and grow.
Any piece of advice for all the women out there?
Whatever decision you make, whatever you choose to do, make sure you do it whole-heartedly. Nothing in life should be done because of a lack of choice. Realise your capabilities and give it your hundred percent, whether you decide to be a working professional, a socialite, or a housewife. Do not follow society’s idea of success. Do what makes you feel happy.
What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?
I am proud that we as an establishment have been able to look after over 500 employees and have loyal clients, many of whom have been visiting Bodycraft for years. Having an academy where we are able to provide world class education in beauty and wellness is another dream that has become a reality. When our clients tell us about their beautiful experiences at Bodycraft, when we see our employees, some of whom with barely any education, work hard and growing to become senior service agents and even run outlets. These, for me, are my biggest awards.
