Celebrating the Doyenne: Chandrakanta Gupta

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Chandrakanta Gupta is the Founder of Amrutam – an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Brand and Wellness Community, renowned for its range of beauty and wellness products.

What is your wellness philosophy?

My wellness philosophy is fairly simple. I rise early and spend some time doing yoga and meditating. Also, I prioritize spending time with myself because that fills me with a sense of calm. My food habits are also simple – I prefer homemade food and try to take care of minor cold and flu by resorting to effective kitchen remedies and keep it as natural as possible. While I don’t restrict myself from eating what I like, I do keep fasts twice a week to detox and stimulate my bodily functions. My focus is on digesting what I eat. Other than that, I love listening to bhajans as it helps me restore my energy and makes me feel physically and mentally rejuvenated.

Your success mantra?

Do your work with utmost integrity and truthfulness. Be honest in your efforts and do not take your tasks as a liability – try to look forward to it and you will surely see the results of your hard and honest work. Put your faith in your work or anything you want for that matter it will manifest your efforts into exactly what you are aiming at.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

I learned that while all of us enjoy being praised, it is also easier to get lost in the pool of appreciation. It can make us feel arrogant. This is why it is important to keep our critics close to us because they guide us to correct our mistakes and look for ways to improve ourselves.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

Don’t take an obstacle as a problem but rather as a challenge. Always try to focus on how you can do better and be patient and persistent with your efforts.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

I am most proud of having an ever-growing family – the #AmrutamFamily that is full of love, care and kindness. Every person that comes across Amrutam automatically becomes a member of Amrutam family and nothing makes me happier than that. I take a lot of pride in being able to build this global community of Ayurveda enthusiasts with my incredible team.
