Celebrating the Doyenne: Shubhika Jain

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Shubhika Jain is the Founder and CEO of RAS Luxury Oils, farm-to-face sustainable beauty brand.

What is your wellness philosophy?

Wellness is being happy in the mind, body and the soul. Happiness and health go hand in hand. We often take care of our body and taking care of our mind is left backstage. Take care of your mind, keep checking negative thoughts and reclaim your narrative. To take care of your soul, meditate daily for at least 15 min. If you do not have time, meditate for more than 30 minutes.

Your success mantra?

Where there is a will there’s a way. I believe that one must strive to be a multi-hyphenate in today’s world; markets and consumer patterns are constantly changing, and one must always be prepared to make the best of any given situation. Lastly, I also think we should give more importance towards work-life balance. Taking time off allows you to rejuvenate and get back to work with twice the energy and drive.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

Trust your judgement. With every virtue, comes a vice, to learn to embrace it all and to live in balance. The beauty of making mistakes is that it holds this unparalleled power to transform you into something better than you were before. The biggest lesson to learn from any mistake is to try and not make that same mistake. Lean in to the lessons. Don’t let your mistakes direct where you’re going.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

Do not underestimate yourself, you can do much more than that. We are all limitless in every direction we choose to go in. We need to follow our passion and know that our voice matters. We need to speak up for ourselves and fundamentally understand that we belong and deserve a seat at every table we choose to be at.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

I do not consider myself to be a doyenne, there is a long way to go. The Ras family makes the brand what it is today – from our farmers to the different teams along with our mentors and advisers, they are my biggest pride.
