5 Herbal Teas that are Loaded with Health Benefits

The multiple health benefits of a green tea or herbal tea have given rise to a worldwide trend of replacing the traditional tea. Some of those teas are Rosehip, Rooibos, Yellow, Pu-erh, and Sencha green tea. Rosehip tea is an herbal tea made using pseudo-fruits of the rose plant. While Rooibos is extracted from fermented leaves of the Aspalathus Linearis shrub, a plant that can be found in South Africa. The Yellow tea and Pu-erh tea hails from China, and Sencha green tea originates in Japan. They all can be used as herbal tea that may provide several health benefits. Here, take a look at some of them.

Rosehip Tea

Rosehip tea is known to be high in antioxidants. Antioxidants are substances that safeguard or reduce the cell damage that is caused by free radicals. Having antioxidants could protect against chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. It could also support the immune system as rosehip contains vitamin C. Vitamin C plays an important role in stimulating the production of white blood cells known as lymphocytes that protect against infection. While Rosehip also contains a good amount of polyphenols and vitamins A and E that boosts and strengthens the immune system.

Rooibos Tea

Good thing about Rooibos tea is that it is caffeine-free which is good for pregnant women and children and also those who are sensitive to caffeine. This tea is low in tannins. Tannins are known to interfere with the body’s iron absorption. This tea is known to be calorie-free thus, it may be used as a beverage if looking to manage weight issues. Rooibos contains antioxidants that are beneficial for your heart as they could keep the cholesterol levels low.

Yellow Tea

Yellow tea is known to boost metabolism which helps in burning fat rapidly. Thus, it could aid in your weight loss management, because of the catechins and polyphenols in them. As green tea helps controlling blood sugar levels, similarly, yellow tea too helps prevent type 1 diabetes.

Pu-erh Tea

This tea as per some of the animal studies indicates, is good for reducing cholesterol levels. Which could be helpful in lowering heart-related disease. There is another test-tube study which indicates that Pu-erh extracts have killed cells of breast, colon, and oral cancer. Though it seems promising. But it should never be used as a treatment for cancer.

Sencha Green Tea

Green tea is known for several health benefits and Sencha is no different to it. Studies on Sencha green tea indicate it is helpful in improving blood flow and could be beneficial for good heart health. As it aids in good blood flow, it is also beneficial for functioning of the brain. One study suggests that who consumes green tea has better activity in the memory portion of the brain.
