Compassion fatigue is characterised by decrease in the ability to empathise coupled with physical and emotional exhaustion of emotions.

Primarily found in those who are in the profession of helping others, this stress can be referred to as the ‘cost of caring.’

Friends who are able to understand the impact of the job increases the chances of avoiding compassion fatigue. Being in any kind of a relationship increases one’s morale especially during bad phases.
