Celebrating the Doyenne: Dr. Drishti Anand

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Dr. Drishti Anand is the Founder of LetsDressUp, India’s fastest-growing fashion-tech company. From an early age, Drishti has been fashion-conscious and deeply understands the positive impact and confidence a woman can experience when dressing up well. What makes LDU unique is that it is the first Indian company to have created a size chart specific to Indian consumers, not the size chart of the US/UK/Mexico as most brands use.

What is your wellness philosophy?

At the outset, being happy in anything I do is essential. After all, that is the end goal for all of us in life, and we must always choose to do what makes us happy. When I do things that I love, it brings me joy and positive reinforcement. And when I am happy throughout the day, it automatically translates to physical and mental wellness, and I can focus better on all fronts.

Your success mantra?

My success mantra is recognizing one’s weaknesses and playing on the strengths. Secondly, remember there is no shortcut to success.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

I lost a customer in the early days of my business due to a delay in responding to them. The fact that I used to procrastinate made me lose that opportunity. Since then, I decided that I should be active, and even if I do not have a response, I must communicate proactively. It has helped me in coming a long way in the entrepreneurial journey.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

The female community is powerful, and every woman must empower another. Women must not be afraid to pursue what they love the most. Motivating other women around you should never be a second option.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

My biggest pride is having taken the leap of faith to pursue entrepreneurship. Being a medical doctor, I broke the stereotype and started a fashion startup clocking ten crores in annualized revenue today. It is just because I chose to do what I love the most!
