Celebrating the Doyenne: Vandini Gupta

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Vandini Gupta is the Founder of Mary Cohr, a credible global brand for Indian women, bringing scientifically researched, 100% natural, and high-quality skincare solutions along with haircare treatments that are more accessible than ever before.

What is your wellness philosophy?

For me, wellness is all about achieving a balance between physical and mental health. I strongly believe that taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health. When it comes to physical health, I make sure to incorporate exercise into my daily routine. I think it's essential to find an activity that you enjoy, whether that's running, yoga, or just taking a walk outside. Exercise not only helps to improve your physical health, but it's also a fantastic way to boost your mood and reduce stress. Apart from these, your hobbies are a great stress buster, so I think that also adds to my wellness philosophy.

Your success mantra?

Personally, success isn't just about achieving a particular goal or milestone; it's about living a well-rounded life that's filled with hobbies, passions, and pleasures. While hard work and focus are essential, I think it's equally important to make time for the things that bring you joy and help you unwind. I also believe that having faith and trust in the journey is crucial. There will be ups and downs along the way, but it's important to trust that everything will work out in the end. By staying focused, staying positive, and enjoying the journey, I believe that anyone can achieve their goals and live a fulfilling life.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

I believe that making mistakes is a natural part of the learning process. We can't always get things right on the first try, and that's okay. So making mistakes is absolutely fine, but it’s extremely crucial to take ownership of your actions, learn from them and avoid repeating the same thing. Honestly, this is the best way to grow and improve from your past experiences.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

Having both an Emotional Quotient and Intelligence Quotient is a woman’s superpower. Women have a unique ability to bring both their analytical and emotional skills to the table, and I think it's important to recognize the value of both. A high IQ is essential for succeeding in business and other professional pursuits. However, it's just as important to have a high EQ, which allows you to empathise with others, build strong relationships, and navigate complex social situations. By cultivating both sides of yourself, you can have a head for business and a heart for the world.

So, my advice to all the women out there would be to embrace your full potential and don't be afraid to use your emotional intelligence to build meaningful connections and make a positive impact in your community, while also leveraging your intellect to achieve your professional goals.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

I think, over the years, I've faced many challenges and obstacles, both in my career and in my personal life. However, I've always tried to approach these challenges as opportunities for growth and learning. Each experience has taught me something new and helped me to become the person I am today.

Whether it's been mastering a new skill, overcoming a difficult situation, or simply learning to see things from a different perspective, I believe that every challenge has helped me to become a stronger, more resilient, and more compassionate person. And that is something that I take great pride in.

As a doyenne, I also take pride in being able to share my knowledge and experience with others and to mentor and support women who are just starting out in their own careers. Being able to give back and help others achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding, and it's something that I feel privileged to be able to do.
