Celebrating the Doyenne: Sweta Arya

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Sweta Arya is the Founder and Designer of Ochre at Home, a Kolkata-based design company specializing in bespoke furniture that is au courant with upcoming styles and trends.

What is your wellness philosophy?

Eating healthy is key to a healthy body. And it has become very important for people today to value nutritional food. We are loaded with options, both offline and online, and while it might feel tempting every time, it is essential to avoid junk and choose health every time.

Your success mantra?

They say he who has never tried anything has never failed. So, never be afraid or ashamed to fail, but have the courage to start again. The world is advancing at a very rapid pace, and it is very tough to keep up with the same. But, one should keep trying and never give up on his dreams, as they are worth chasing for.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

Mistakes are a necessary part of life. No matter how vague it sounds, mistakes are essential as they tell what not to do again. People who are successful today surely have their hares of mistakes that have taught them enough life lessons. And as each of our mistakes tells us something, the biggest and most crucial point is to never give up and keep trying and pushing your limits. You never know what the next level of excellence is.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

Women of today are stronger, opinionated and braver. Bashing the stereotypes, we as women have come a long way, but we still have a long way to go. So, my advice for the women out there would be to have faith in your instincts and believe in your dreams. Don’t be afraid of anything as you are capable of achieving everything that you desire for.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

Happy clients and beautiful looking homes are the biggest moments of pride. When I see my clients beaming with joy, it gives me immense satisfaction and happiness that I am able to deliver their dreams and I am very proud of that.
