Celebrating the Doyenne: Saanya Sharma, Aashna Lalwani & Sanjana Shah

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Three entertainment is an experience-led decor company that specializes in creating memorable experiences through design and visual storytelling. Founded by Saanya Sharma, Sanjana Shah & Aashna Lalwani, the establishment curates unique, sensory escapades that are transformative in nature.

What is your wellness philosophy?

The nature of our work is extremely physically intensive and stress-driven. For the days that we can sit back and recoup, we prefer to indulge ourselves in doing things we love the most. Whether it is spending time with family and friends, trying out new restaurants, or giving ourselves time to do absolutely nothing. Often, when there is so much noise and chaos out there, the best thing you can do is be silent and listen to your body when it needs to relax. We believe that wellness starts from within.

Your success mantra?

We don’t really think that there’s any mantra to success simply because what might seem successful to many may not be the same to us. Everybody measures success differently. You have got to try and do a little better than you did yesterday, every single day. In doing this over time, when you look back you won’t realize how far you’ve made it. It’s just a little more hard work, a little more focus, and a little more dedication than the previous day, that makes all the difference in the long run. Most importantly you have to truly believe in what you do and what you stand for, and success won’t be too far behind.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

You can’t be the best at everything, nor can you please everyone. You need to identify where your core strength really lies and focus on enhancing it with every move you make. Sometimes we find ourselves running a rat race and very often it seems comfortable to do so but if you aren’t able to take calculated risks instead of venturing down a known path, you are losing out. That’s one of the key learnings we took back when we just started our business and it has changed the way we approach things.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

To all the women who are bending over backward to excel at their jobs, remember to maintain a work-life balance from the get-go. So often we don’t know where to draw that line, even more so during the lockdown when work from home became increasingly intrusive for working professionals. Take a self-care day and give yourself time to just unwind and relax, and you’ll come back to work better equipped to take on whatever the next day has to throw at you.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

Being in the position to have an all-woman team at Three Entertainment. There is empathy, understanding, support, and the ability to share in each other’s successes that make us so proud. We strongly believe that women can change the world and we hope to have a small impact on this industry, through this effort.
