SParul Pratap is the Executive Chef at Music & Mountains. She is a trained Chef, professional food stylist, cook, food blogger and social media strategist.

What is your wellness philosophy?

Over the years I’ve realised that wellness isn’t just spa days or green tea, it’s a bouquet of self care activities that ensure my overall well being. So for me wellness includes a day of reading, good meals, good wine, time with my family, my dogs, my friends, a good workout, time outdoors amidst nature and loads of music and movies!

Your success mantra?

Nothing can replace pure wholehearted hard work.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

When I crossed the age of 40 I realised I had never focused on my savings. I always worked for the joy of my job but there comes a time we have to put a value on our time and a figure to what our skills are worth. That mistake has taught me to be penny wise and more discerning when it comes to what my value is!

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

My biggest advice to women out there is – know your worth. As a working woman, as a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. Add value to people’s lives and choose those who add value to yours. Don’t settle for less and always uplift other women, we are a sisterhood!

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

My biggest pride is where I have reached in what used to be a (supposedly) male dominated industry! As a chef, I work as hard, put in as many hours and have as much skill so why can’t I be a leader in my industry! In fact to add to that pride is the fact I don’t just excel in my profession but I am a wife and mother and I run my home with as much precision as I run my professional kitchen!
