Celebrating the Doyenne: Lubaina Sheerazi

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Lubaina Sheerazi is the CEO & Co-founder of BRANDit, a trusted leader in destination and hospitality representation with a finger on the pulse of India.

What is your wellness philosophy?

For me, true wellness is about having a holistic approach towards life. Since my work schedule is hectic, I am mindful of what I eat and how my sleep cycle is. I try to stay consistent with my exercise and self-care regime even when I am travelling.

Your success mantra?

There are no shortcuts to success and no substitute for hard work. What gave me the ability to turn the tide is innovation and flexibility. Life will throw curveballs, but how quick we bounce back is what matters.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

I wouldn’t label it as a mistake, but one thing that I wish I gave enough attention to in the early stage of my career was to create a better work-life balance. Devoting yourself to only one aspect is an easier choice, but a balanced work-life is invaluable.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

Whether someone else believes in your ideas or not, always believe in yourself. The first step to success is having the conviction and a go-getter attitude to achieve what you have set out for. Listen to your inner voice and trust your instinct.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

There is a sense of gratification when I look back and see how far I have come. I take immense pride in the brands I have created and ideas I have nurtured.
