Celebrating the Doyenne: Jinali Sutariya

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Jinali Sutariya is the co-founder at TravelStoriesByUs. What started as a hobby to share love for food on Instagram turned into their (her partner Malav) passion. After receiving awards for stellar content and being listed as the Top 50 Influential Food Bloggers in India, they realised their love for sharing their travel experiences with their audience too. What started primarily as a food blog turned into a luxury travel guide.

What is your wellness philosophy?

Eating healthy and organic, sleeping 8 hours a day and working out for at least 30 minutes daily is very important to stay fit and active. I try to follow as much as I can. It has helped to treat my body internally rather than externally.

Your success mantra?

I believe in order to succeed you need to have your action, thoughts and words towards your work align with your goals. ONLY until you REALLY want something, start doing the work and take action towards your objectives, will you start moving forward. So my success mantra is don’t wish for it. Work for it. Only hard work pays off. Be disciplined, have a to-do list and follow it.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

I’ve always felt that you can’t learn anything from a mistake until you admit that you’ve made it. I believe making mistakes and acknowledging them actually empowers us and makes us stronger. My mistakes have actually taught me to be more patient.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

A piece of advice that actually has worked for me is, ‘when you have an idea, just start. Don’t wait for things to magically happen.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

I feel really proud of the fact that I’m an artist and I’m able to communicate and put my stories out into the world. I’m privileged to have a platform where I can inspire everyone to travel and explore different countries. It makes me very happy to see people trust our recommendations. Whether it’s to try new restaurants, food combinations or a whole new destination that probably wasn’t on their bucket list.
