Celebrating the Doyenne: Eshanka Wahi

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Eshanka Wahi is a Dubai & Delhi-based Wellness Advocate & Nutrition Coach. She recently represented India at Dubai Expo 2020. She strongly believes that eating healthy is the strongest form of self-respect.

What is your wellness philosophy?

To me, being well means being satisfied with every aspect of who I am, including how I look, how I act, who I am with, and everything in between. One which is holistic, sustainable, and can be a part of your everyday life. Make small changes in your lifestyle that will create a big impact. I am a believer in intermittent fasting, not for weight loss, but for mental health and how it centers our entire wellness journey. Wellness entails more than just your health and how much you exercise. It includes my emotional, spiritual, nutritional, intellectual, and social well-being.

Your success mantra?

Happiness, without a doubt, is the key to success. A happy person is better able to deal with work. As a result, I strive to maintain a positive and happy attitude at all times. Enjoy all your moments, live them. I am constantly learning, reading, and practicing different nutrition and wellness techniques. It’s an ongoing learning curve for me, always hungry to know more.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

Mistakes and failures play an important role in your life; when something goes wrong, learn from it instead of feeling disappointed. Be open-minded, always try to understand other people’s points of view as well.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

    · It is acceptable to make mistakes.

    · Believe in yourself as completely as a man believes in himself.

    · You must toot your own horn because no one else will.

    · All you need to do now is keep going. Whatever happens.

    · You never know what another person is going through. Be gentle with yourself. Have empathy.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

My greatest accomplishment has been to change the lives of so many people so that they not only achieve their ideal body weight, but also live a healthy lifestyle. I always encourage my clients to use healthier alternatives and help them in changing their taste palate. My aim is to upgrade your lifestyle and strengthen your guts; it is not to merely “lose weight” but to be a voice to as many.
