Celebrating the Doyenne: Dimple Jangda

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their
WELLNESS philosophy.

Dimple Jangda is a TEDx speaker, Ayurvedic Health coach, and Founder of Prana Healthcare Centre and Prana Academy for Ayurvedic Life-sciences with JAINx.

What is your wellness philosophy?

My wellness philosophy is to eat clean, workout every single day, follow the circadian rhythm of the sun, wake up and go to bed with the sun, and avoid eating meals after sunset. Keep in mind that when I say eat clean, it’s not just about the food on my plate, it is also the books I read, the music I listen to, the kind of content I consume on social media and on television and the people I surround myself with. Eat well, eliminate waste, sweat it out, work hard.

Your success mantra?

You always have to dream big and dream crazy. If your ideas are not crazy and if your ideas do not give you sleepless nights then it’s probably not worth your time. It must wake you up in the middle of the night wanting to co-create newer projects and verticals. You must be really excited and passionate about showing your ideas to the rest of the world. They must be ideas that move the world and show an impact on the society, the people you love and are surrounded by. It should be an idea that has a demand and does not harm the environment and nature – animals, plants, birds in every manner. It should be an idea for the greater good of humanity. If it’s a good idea, go all out to execute it because when you’re passionate about something, the universe conspires to make it come through.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

For an entrepreneur, every day is a learning experience. You become a student for life. Not only do I learn from the mistakes I make, but I also learn from the mistakes my staff and colleagues make. With that said, I’ve learned how to manage my team better each day. I’ve also learned from experimenting in the marketplace- which product worked well, which ones need some more pushing. I’ve learned from our communication platforms. I’ve seen some ideas click with the audience and some that don’t. I really do love learning, whether it’s learning lessons or learning skills, I look forward to them both. I love learning new languages, sport activities, horse riding. I believe that as long as you’re living, you’re learning and growing. The day we stop learning is the day we start perishing.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

It doesn’t matter what your gender is, whether you’re a man or a woman, the business world is the same. People may judge you based on your appearance and your gender but that should not impact your decisions. Your decisions should not stem from your gender. Your decisions should stem from the needs of the world, from the marketplace, from your customers’ needs and from what you want to project out into the world. Do not let anyone stereotype or label you or put you in a box because that’s not where you’re meant to be. Don’t settle for the sky, reach out for the stars.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

I would say it has been my team. We’ve all worked hard tirelessly and relentlessly throughout the last one year of the lockdown. Instead of feeling the pinch and burn of the lockdown, we launched two new companies. We launched Prana Academy for Ayurvedic Sciences which has students from 40 countries. We have Prana Healthcare Centre which has patients from 49 countries who now do online consultations thanks to the need of the hour. We’ve shifted our clinic from offline to online. We also launched the Prana Skincare and Haircare range which is the first of its kind- edible skincare products that you can eat as well as apply on your skin. We launched the world’s first ayurvedic festival which was an 18-hour long webinar with 38 international speakers launched by Gaur Gopal Ji and Juhi Chawla. We launched ‘Jashn’ -the Freedom Festival and the world’s first global multilingual Ayurveda festival in 6 languages. We are getting ready to launch ‘PranaShakti’ to celebrate strong women. A lot of new projects have been launched during the lockdown and so I am most proud of my team that works together.
