“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Avleen Bansal is the Head of Training at Makeup Studio, a world renowned brand of professional make-up products and accessories in more than 70 countries.

What is your wellness philosophy?

Wellness, for me, is about physical, spiritual, emotional, and social well-being. None of these things can work independently. I believe being fit gives one an energy boost, and being spiritually sound can lead to good habit development for the greater good of others. Similarly, emotional well-being helps you grow as a person. It helps with positive thinking and makes you conscious of others around you. Whereas your social well-being plays a key role in identifying your contribution to the community, you are part of. Wellness is a holistic concept, and I would certainly say one should always focus on all 4 aspects.

Your success mantra?

Stay close to your roots, know your things clearly, communicate, and be open to perceptions. It helps build strong relationships and leads you to the road to success!

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

The human body embodies mistakes; we all commit new mistakes daily and learn from them. My biggest learning has been that one should be open to constructive criticism and be ready to make changes swiftly. The quicker you act, the quicker your returns will be.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

90% of my staff are women, and I learn from them daily. So, I would pass on the wisdom I have gained from them: ' No matter what situation you are stuck in, hustle only if it’s worth your peace and time. The feminine energy is unimaginably powerful enough to conquer anything; channel it wisely to keep your wellness quotient high.’

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

God has been kind enough to support me every step of the way, and everything has been awarded to me according to his wish. But if I can put one biggest pride, it would be the community we have built in the industry. Every single person in the community knows the strength and power we have collected on our journey while building Makeup Studio in India. We still have the support and love of the people. To be a part of the journey of Makeup Studio Professional Amsterdam in India.
