Celebrating the Doyenne: Avantika Sinha Bahl

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Avantika Sinha Bahl is the creative genius behind multiple F&B brands such as Kampai, Mai Bao, EBK Luxury Catering, Sushi San by Kampai Cocodate and recently launched FMCG brand Tacious.

What is your wellness philosophy?

Wellness to me means living a balanced life. There’s something to be said for living “la dolca vita”: Prioritizing rest, having that glass of wine or cookie, getting a manicure without feeling guilty about the chemicals, and enjoying life to it’s fullest. Having said that, I strive to stay active by working out regularly and maintaining a balanced diet. Wellness to me is also about mental health, which is a big focus point for me. I am a firm believer in staying connected with my spiritual side as well finding a sense of peace and harmony within. My overall goal is to create a balanced lifestyle that is sustainable and enjoyable.

Your success mantra?

Have you heard the saying, 'The harder I work, the luckier I get'?

That is my main mantra for success.

I enjoy my work very much. I think the most important thing to remember is to love what you do. Passion always reflects in your work and staying authentic to your true self always pays off in the long run. We take pride in creating new & novel concepts previously unseen! All our brands are unique and present something new in the market. Our range of brands includes Kampai- one of Delhi’s renowned Japanese restaurant, Mai Bao which is Delhi’s only Singaporean street food concept & EBK, a luxury catering vertical.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

I have learned that making mistakes is an essential part of learning and growing. When we make mistakes, we have the opportunity to reflect on our actions and gain insight into how to do things differently in the future.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

To seize every opportunity for improvement and go above and beyond to deliver excellence. I believe self-assessment at the end of each day is the key to having an even more successful outcome the next day.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

I take immense pride in saying that within a few years of launching our first and very successful brand – Kampai, I am now one of the youngest women entrepreneurs in the hospitality industry who is set to open multiple outlets of my restaurants across India and globally this year.
