What is your wellness philosophy?
I am a strong believer that wellness comes from within and it is, therefore, important to attain a level of spirituality that gives you peace, calmness, and happiness. Daily prayers, connection with the Almighty are prime. For me, this is meditation wherein I connect to the Almighty God, feeling blessed and cared for. Daily doses of practicing gratitude, love, compassion are also helpful. Once the spiritual piece is sorted daily exercise, laughter, family, friends help you enjoy the wellness within. Paying attention to keep yourself well aerated (deep breathing), hydrated (sufficient water intake), eating the right food, and occasional indulgence that increases the Vitamin H (happiness) needs to be part of your routine.
Your success mantra?
With the right intentions, continue giving your best and leave the rest to God's will and plan. Sometimes the parameters of success we set for ourselves may not be the best and this we usually realize late. It is therefore very important to understand the broader picture where your success goes beyond ‘yourself’ and reaches out to others as well.
A lesson you learned from making a mistake?
Change is a constant, so brace yourself to quickly adapt to the changes. Mistakes and challenges will always help you mature and grow so treat them as opportunities and not excuses.
Any piece of advice for all the women out there?
Believe in yourself and realize all the powers that are within you. You are capable of bringing in the change you want to see in this world. Women have shown their power and achievements in every field, leadership, sports, academic excellence, medicine, art, literature, space missions, and the list goes on. Born with the innate ‘vardaan’ of giving birth and nurturing life, you will always do a shade better. So, shrug off the diffidence and go out and conquer the world. You just have one life to do it. Do not just go with the flow but set up some goals for your life that gives you happiness and contentment. Enjoy the journey along with the satisfaction of reaching the destination! Along this journey, reach out to people who need to be alleviated. As it is said- the more the merrier.
What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?
Being honest in my intentions and efforts, I have always tried my best to walk the talk. This is appreciated by my colleagues and is able to influence my team to do the same. Being able to influence the younger generation to commit their life for a good cause is the greatest reward. Looking back there have been people who have had an impact on my personal and professional life, nurturing me and helping me grow & bloom. I have their vivid memories and I want to continue to do the same for the youth of today.
