Breakfast can really make or break your day, so start strong with one of these delicious high-protein recipes. Myprotein India, leading sports and nutrition brand, shares with us some of their favourite breakfast ideas for Fathers to celebrate Father’s Day.
1.) Sheet Pan Protein Pancakes
Makes- 9
Ingredients-
• 3 eggs
• 3 scoops Impact Whey Protein (Vanilla)
• 300ml milk
• 200g plain flour
• 2 tsp. baking powder
• 150g strawberries (sliced)
• 150g blueberries
Method-
1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
2. Add the eggs to a large mixing bowl and beat well with a whisk. Then add the milk and whisk again to combine.
3. Next, add the flour, baking powder, and protein to the bowl. Whisk well until you have a smooth batter.
4. Pour the pancake batter into a sheet pan that’s lined with baking paper. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to make sure all the mixture is evenly spread throughout the tray.
5. Now place your toppings onto the pancake batter. We went for a fruity combo of slices of strawberries and blueberries, but you can get creative with whatever your favourite ingredients are.
6. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
7. Cut into squares and enjoy!
2.) High- Protein Berry and Nut Breakfast Bars
Makes- 6
Ingredients-
For the nut bars:
• 130g almonds (chopped)
• 130g cashews (chopped)
• 25g sesame seeds
• 50g honey
For the berry bars:
• 150g chopped walnuts
• 1 scoop Impact Whey Protein (Vanilla)
• 50g dried cranberries
• 50g coconut oil (melted)
Method-
1) For each flavour, mix all the ingredients in a large bowl until fully combined.
2) Pour the mixture into a lined baking dish and use the back of a spoon, fork, or spatula to press it firmly down into a flat, smooth layer.
3) Freeze for several hours, or overnight. Then remove and cut into several bars.
4) Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
3.) Vitamin Boosting 3 Ways Smoothie
Ingredients-
Avocado, Banana & Kale:
• 75g frozen avocado
• 1 banana
• Handful kale
• 200ml milk
• 1 scoop Impact Whey Protein (Vanilla)
• Handful ice
Mango & Honey:
• 150g frozen mango
• 100g low-fat Greek yoghurt
• 1 tbsp. honey
• 200ml milk
• 1 scoop Impact Whey Protein (Vanilla)
Forest Fruits:
• 150g frozen forest fruit berries
• 1 tbsp. peanut butter
• 1 tbsp. FlavDrop (Vanilla)
• 1 scoop Impact Whey Protein (Vanilla)
• 200ml milk
Method-
1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until completely smooth.
2. Pour into a bowl and top with any extras you fancy — chopped banana, fresh berries, your favourite nuts, chia seeds, coconut flakes, you name it!
