“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women's Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.
Megha Israni, along with her elder brother Luv Israni, started a Wedding Photography Company named Israni Photography in the year 2011. Her meticulously honed skill set and carefully curated team has been raising the bar for the wedding photography and cinematography industry ever since. She went on to start the second business, called Love & Memories, fondly named after her brother and herself. This division captures all things maternity and newborn.
What is your wellness philosophy?
Wellness has a lot got to do with the state of mind. For me, wellness means having a lot of water, that is the first mantra I believe in. I believe in practicing yoga four times a week. I start my day with positive thoughts and focus on having mental peace. Being peaceful is my philosophy of wellness.
Your success mantra?
Striking the right balance between work and family. It is about being focused, being planned, and aiming for a goal to achieve. I think that is something I have lived by for a really long time.
A lesson you learned from making a mistake?
Never give up. People will come and people will go. So what? What’s next? I think that’s something I have learnt the hard way around that you know. Perseverance & dedication is what you really require and if you have faith in your vision, no one is going to stop you from achieving that.
Any piece of advice for all the women out there?
Go live a life for yourself. Self-love is very important. I think Indian women have always lived a life loving and living for the family. It’s time that we put ourselves on priority and live for ourselves. Go live out there, do what you want, hustle and just make a life which is worth living.
What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?
My biggest pride is the fact that I run a male dominated industry with wedding photographers and cinematographers which are 95% male and I love how it has evolved with respect to women. Also, that I can be myself, express myself through my films, and through the images we capture.
