Celebrating the Doyenne: Hina Oomer-Ahmed

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Hina Oomer-Ahmed is the Founder of Luxebox, a Luxury Gifting Solution for Corporate, Wedding, and Bespoke Personal Gifting.

What is your wellness philosophy?

My wellness philosophy is to be tuned in to what my body needs in terms of food, exercise, and me time. It’s also about understanding what works for me individualistically as opposed to following wellness current fads and trends. I try to follow Ayurvedic principles as much as I can, especially for food and supplements, and try to keep it as simple as possible.

Your success mantra?

There really is no success mantra, but I would say what really works is consistency. Consistency in working at getting fitter, at working towards growing your business, or working towards your personal goals. Every day does not have to be the most productive or successful day, but you got to wake up, set the intention and go for it.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

To first allow myself to accept that I was wrong and, more importantly, to see it from a different perspective that might be so different from mine.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

It is never too late for anything and there never is a perfect time. Don’t wait for a perfect time to start a business, learn a new skill, play a sport…keep learning and growing.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

To create a business out of a concept that was in my head. Luxury curated gift boxes was such a visual idea that no one had really seen and was the first of its kind when I started Luxebox 5 years ago. To see it grow so organically and to see all the fun and unique gifting we have done and continue to do makes me very happy.
