Celebrating the Doyenne: Ekta Jain

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Ekta Jain is the CMO at Octavius Tea, India’s Pioneer Tea brand. Combining the respect for quintessential British tea with the Indian love for taste & flavour, the brand specializes in a variety of tea leaves, tea bags, instant mixes, coffee blends and more.

What is your wellness philosophy?

Physical & mental wellness is inherently connected. We should give them both equal importance while developing our wellness regime. I believe in decluttering my mind & getting rid of all redundant mental baggage. This practice helps me to stay focused, motivated, and productive. Healthy eating habits & regular exercise are crucial, a balanced diet loaded with fruits and vegetables along with daily workouts keeps me going. And I make sure not to skip my meals.

Your success mantra?

Conviction, Boldness, and Experience in Multiple Fields.

Never stop yourself from learning new things. Deep understanding in multiple fields is an important factor in expanding your domain and growth.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

Never regret the decisions you make, you never know what the future might have in store for you. It is through failure and our mistakes that we learn to grow spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

Identify your strengths and work on growing them. Being a businesswoman, a wife, and a mother, I identify with the challenge a woman has to face in balancing work and family.

Women continue to bear a heavier burden when it comes to balancing work and family. Our competing social-community expectations make us feel guilty about keeping ourselves first. Adapting effective social and personal adjustments is necessary to cope with such a situation. A working mother, especially one who has the means to be able to balance her home and work, enjoys the motivation & satisfaction that a job or career provides. She develops the ability to raise a valuable member of the community and, at the same time, acquires financial independence. Along with motherhood, work adds to the wholeness of being a woman.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

I take the biggest pride in sharing my knowledge and encouraging upcoming entrepreneurs to believe in their dream and make them happen.
