7 Ways to Keep your Skin Healthy

Skin is like a magic mirror. It reflects how healthy our gut is and what is happening to our body internally. It is a proven fact that a healthy gut leaves skin radiant and glowing. You need to make a switch to a healthier lifestyle and incorporate clean, toxin-free, and nutrient-rich skincare products before your skin starts to sag and exhibits signs of aging. Naina Ruhail, Co-Founder, Vanity Wagon, tells you how.

Before we talk about the ways to keep the skin healthy, always make sure to delve into the ingredient list of the skincare product to know what you are going to apply to your skin. I keenly suggest staying clear of chemical-laden skin products and switching to cleaner and toxin-free alternatives to treat your skin with the best of nature.

Here are the tips that will take you through the basics, consider them skincare 101.

Add Antioxidant-rich skincare products to your vanity and combat free radical damage. It is an ideal way to tighten pores, clear up zits and minimize the appearance of sun damage and pigmentation.

Keep Yourself Hydrated- Keep your body hydrated and drink gallons of water to flush out toxins, and nothing can stop you from glowing. Also, use a hydrating moisturizer on your face and body for a daily boost of hydration.

Never Skip A Sunscreen- You cannot ignore this one. Whether you are indoors or outdoors, slather your skin with a thick layer of sunscreen every two hours.

Stock Up On Vitamin C- Vitamin C enriched products work wonders on skin discoloration and leave it brighter and even-toned. Add a Vitamin C serum to your regime for that blinding glow.

Say Yes To Healthy Fat- Do not skip on the good old ghee that our grandmother is always raving about. Eating clarified butter keeps skin nourished and glowing naturally.

Get Enough Sleep- Sleep is damn important and mostly overlooked. Clock in at least 8 hours of sleep every night to wake up to healthy, relaxed skin. Make sure you don’t sleep on your stomach that can leave you with breakouts.

Detox- Okay, this one is important too. Exfoliate your skin at least once a week to slough away all the dirt, grime, and excess oil that you collected in your skin pores.

Always Pat, Don’t Rub- Every time you wash your face, remember to pat your face dry and not rub. And whenever you apply a skin care product on your face, use the same pat or dab motion to let the product penetrate the skin better.
