Radiance Booster

Finally, a hydrafacial that does double duty in a city tight on time.

Honestly, this is a skincare fix that now has me hooked. With dry skin (read: no moisture and plumpness) and that awful stretchy feeling making my skin taut within an hour of slathering on the moisturiser, the superstar SKUCCII Hydrafacial MD arrived as a buzzy therapy to lend my skin sheer radiance.

I walk into the spiffy 4500 sq ft of sprawling space in mid-town Mumbai, dotted with treatment rooms, consultation cabins and a cool café serving up healthy bites and hot sips. Celebrity dermatologist Dr Meghna Mour, co-founder and Medical Head of SKUCCII Supercliniq (the largest skincare grove in the inch-pinch city), powers the iconic Hydrafacial MD in India, in a first in the country.

My session spans 45 minutes of sheer bliss bringing in a three-pronged approach: cleansing, exfoliating, and then infusing skin with intensive, reparative glow-booster serums. The muck-sucker cleansing routine begins with rhythmic application of a gentle cleanser across my face and neck. This disengages the dead skin and softens the skin pores. Follows the machine-led removal of whiteheads and blackheads - that tend to gang up galore on my T-zone and chin, courtesy the Mumbai air replete with pollutants and humidity.

The draw-outs are decidedly gentler, quicker, and cleaner as my pores are vacuumed swiftly while simultaneously potent actives are pushed into my skin to moisturize, brighten, plump, and protect. The dead skin suction unclogs my pores effectively and quietly, leaving my skin feeling remarkably smooth and supple.

Finally, a serum packed with the richness of antioxidants, peptides, hyaluronic acid, and collagen works its cool magic, infused gently through the mini ninja device. Effective and energising, the Hydrafacial MD leaves me with luscious, plumped, hydrated, and glowing skin, with no down time to mark. An even subtle smear of sunscreen SPF 50 wraps up my treatment, with a firm massage along my back and spine by my expert therapist working in the ultimate de-stressor using her fingertips and the balls of her palms.

Takeaway? Lovely days don’t come to you, you should walk to them.
