Jaipur’s Best Spa is Inside a Palace — And Here’s An Honest Review

At Aujasya by The Leela Spa, in Jaipur, you forget what the outside world feels like and let yourself relax, recoup and indulge in royalty.

Driving through the Delhi-Jaipur highway has always been a delight. I love the beautiful views of the Aravallis, long stretches of yellow mustard fields, and the occasional spotting of cattle which might block your way, but you won’t mind the delay! And when you are chauffeur-driven to a spa-cation at The Leela Palace Jaipur, everything feels more cinematic & grand!

I spent a day at Aujasya by The Leela Spa, the first Aujasya spa in The Leela portfolio, and I can tell you — the moment you walk through those doors, you forget what the outside world feels like. Not in a dramatic way. Just quietly, gradually, the way a long exhale works. You relax. You recoup. You let yourself be taken care of.

Aujasya by The Leela Spa: The Review

The spa completely lives up to the name 'Aujasya' a Sanskrit term meaning 'conducive to vigour, vitality or anything that enhances holistic well-being'. Signature to the property’s ode to royalty, everything here draws inspiration from Rajasthan’s regal heritage, including Jaipur’s signature mirror work, woven into the spa’s design. Guided by three principles — Shanti, Shakti, and Soumya — each representing a distinct pathway to holistic balance, the spa offers bespoke treatments, revitalising rituals, and carefully curated wellness journeys designed to restore mind, body, and soul. And just as I was absorbing its philosophy on paper, it was time to experience it in practice.

I met my therapist Jutikha at the spa reception, waiting with a smile and a consultation form, which had me answering questions about any lifestyle diseases, concerns, and massage pressure. Based on that, she recommended the Aujasya Signature Ritual – a 90 minute therapy to release stress, stimulate circulation and restore energy. The treatment is  aptly designed for people (like me!) caught up in concrete walls of work and needing to de-stress. Inside the treatment room is dimly lit and of course you are greeted with Leela’s signature smell and soothing music which might lull you to sleep!

Before the massage, my therapist presented me with an oil menu featuring a selection of therapeutic blends — sandalwood, saffron, jasmine, and rose — each designed for a different kind of healing. I chose sandalwood, known for its ability to ease mental fatigue and stress. The treatment began with stimulating strokes, gently working through layers of tension and  I moved to the most zen mode I have ever experienced. After the 60 minute body massage, it went on to a refreshing 30 minute facial that left my skin feeling renewed. The experience then concluded with a warm cup of herbal tea.

A Spa-cation at the Leela Palace Jaipur

Massages always work up an appetite, and I was more than happy to make my way to the intimate Peacock Lounge for a hearty Mediterranean lunch that served regional favourites crafted from fresh, seasonal ingredients – spanning Italian, Greek, Turkish, and Moroccan flavours. Devouring everything, I surrendered to sleep soon after in my Royal Villa with a plunge pool.

Staying here was as close as one gets to experiencing a modern interpretation of royal living — with hand-tufted carpets, a headboard adorned with silver leafing and intricate Tikri glass floral work, and marble floors detailed with delicate inlay. Outside, a temperature-controlled private plunge pool with a jacuzzi and daybed opened into a serene courtyard framed by Jaisalmer stone paving, tall palm trees, and fresco-painted walls that echoed the villa’s regal soul.

My Tryst with Wellness Continues

Other than the spa, the property offers plenty of ways to keep the wellness momentum going. Guided yoga and meditation sessions — available in both private and group formats — are conducted by expert practitioners in the surrounds of Kanishka Bagh, while sound healing sessions unwind whatever tension remains. On slower afternoons, you can sink into the pool or jacuzzi with the Aravallis as your backdrop. Fuel up at any of the property's dining establishments, where the kitchen leans into fresh, seasonal ingredients without ever sacrificing flavour for virtue. Or simply wander the lush palace grounds, letting the rustle of leaves, birdsong, and open air do what no treatment can quite replicate.
