Summer is at its peak, and it’s extremely difficult to convince yourself to work out in this scorching heat. We bring you 5 workout options that you can do in summers and stay fit.
Summer is the perfect time to exercise despite the contrary views. Summer workouts have many benefits like our muscles become more elastic during summer thus reducing the risk of us getting hurt, we sweat more during summers so more toxins are released through the body, and there is more vitamin D intake. Here are 5 summer friendly workouts you can try:
Make walking a habit while you talk or work.
Walk, walk, and walk! Walk while you talk, walk while you work and walk while you read. Even before you start to shed sweat you'll be shedding the extra pounds that you gained during the winter breaks. You can walk in malls, at home, at office and so many other places and not necessarily under the scorching heat of the sun.
Walking has many benefits like improving your balance and coordination, strengthens your muscles and bones, and helps prevent or manage many diseases including heart disease, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.
Swimming is the best way to stay cool & fit
Swimming is the best workout in summers. It not only rejuvenates you but also relaxes you while at the same time helping you tone your body. Swimming keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body, builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness, helps maintain a healthy weight, healthy heart and lungs. It is the best form of work out for having a good posture, stamina and a toned body.
Meditation for relaxing the mind
One of the easiest workouts is meditation. Just after you wake up exhale the negativity and inhale the positivity. Meditation is the most underrated form of a work out. Meditating helps your body wholly and is extremely helpful in calming your nerves, helps you concentrate, it slows down aging and improves cardiovascular and immune health.
Choose the stairs
Cheat on escalators and elevators and make stairs your friends. There are many benefits to taking the stairs like it burns more calories per minute than jogging, reduces cardio risk by more than 30%, helps control weight and builds muscle tone, saves up to 15 minutes a day and cuts carbon and it is easy to build into your life and make it habit. The more you climb the more your body burns hip fat and your blood cholesterol levels remain in balance.
Jump and Skip
While it can be hard to find a work out plan that is suitable to you, jumping ropes can be a great way to go at it. A 10 minute jump at a trampoline is equal to ½ an hour spent running. Other benefits to jumping are it stimulates metabolism, strengthens muscles, improves sense of balance and many more. Not only will it lighten your mood, but will also burn the excess fat and keep your body toned. Not to forget it's good for your blood circulation too.
