In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, hotels often serve as transient spaces—brief stops on journeys, temporary sanctuaries for travellers. But what if we flipped the script and made a hotel our home for a day?
I checked into the iconic luxury hotel, just 5 minutes away from the Delhi airport, Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport. Towering over the city skyline against the backdrop of the highway, this is an architectural marvel, boasting elegantly appointed rooms, a plethora of cuisines to dine at, expansive event spaces, and New Delhi’s best wellness sanctuary.
After swiftly completing check-in procedures, I eagerly made my way to my suite, only to be greeted by a heartwarming surprise from the hotel—a meticulously delicious treat with a handwritten welcome note awaiting my arrival.
My room was a spacious oasis, opening to the view of the pool. Yet, what truly drew my focus was the impeccably designed workstation, offering an abundance of space—an essential feature for my needs. As I nestled beside the window on a cosy sofa, I was surprised by the serene ambiance despite the proximity to the bustling highway. Watching the planes glide by, I knew I could spend hours here, feeling at peace. After comfortably settling in my room, hunger beckoned, and I was soon scrolling through the diverse offerings of the in-room dining menu. With a plethora of culinary options spanning various cuisines, decision-making proved to be a challenge. Ultimately, I placed my order and my food arrived piping hot in no time. What a quick service! The staff member who brought me my food was kind enough to set a table arrangement for my lunch so that I can focus on only enjoying my food, which was delicious.
Following a productive stint of work in the serene confines of my room, I decided to indulge in some well-deserved pampering at the spa later that evening.
Spanning an impressive expanse of 20,000 square feet across three levels, R the Spa stands as a beacon of relaxation. The sheer magnitude of space dedicated solely to spa facilities left me awestruck. What truly astonished me, however, was the spa’s operating hours—open until midnight. Maintaining such a smoothly run spa requires substantial effort, yet remarkably, to witness it bustling with activity and fully occupied. I also spotted the various awards and it filled me with immense pride to behold not one, but two prestigious GlobalSpa awards proudly displayed within the spa’s reception. The spa has a menu with various therapies, you can choose from a full range of treatments, including massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, reflexology, and detox therapies. The complete wellness experience features a choice of massages and the ideal blend of Asian traditions and European therapies. Re-energize with a workout in our state-of-the-art gymnasium, which includes a yoga studio and free weights area.
Upon completing the consultation form, my therapist gracefully led me down the staircase to my designated treatment room. En route, a grand fountain captivated my gaze, its cascading droplets elegantly tracing their path along suspended strings from ceiling to floor—it was so pretty. Stepping into my inviting sanctuary, I eagerly anticipated the indulgence of my Swedish massage experience. The therapist, with her swift hand techniques, guided my body to utmost relaxation, and I was soon in bliss. Post-massage, my therapist graciously encouraged me to luxuriate in the tranquil aftermath, allowing me to savour the euphoria at my own pace. Given the choice between indulging in a bath within the spa’s confines or the comfort of my own room, I opted for the latter. As I stepped back into my room, my bath was already ready! The luxuriously prepared bath was adorned with delicate rose petals floating atop the water, bath salts, and scrubs meticulously arranged on the bathtub tray. The thoughtful gesture caught me off guard, filling me with an overwhelming sense of appreciation. Without hesitation, I submerged myself into the warmth of the tub, feeling rejuvenated and happy.
After the bath, finally, it was time for me to dine at the iconic The Great Kabab Factory at Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport. Entering the ambience with singers and instruments, just giving the energy to the entire environment. Soon after I was seated, the kebabs kept coming! From galouti kebabs, mutton seekh kebab, chicken tikka, paneer tikka, and fish tikka, everything was delicious and full of flavour that I kept wanting for more. The table also had different type of chutneys to go along with your kebabs. As the main course arrived, I had the rice paired with the most flavoursome dal imaginable, alongside tantalising options of chicken and mutton gravies, and assorted breads. When it came to dessert, the choices were equally abundant! Among the myriad options, the gulkand kheer and kulfi stood out as absolute perfection, satisfying my sweet cravings to the fullest.
After indulging in a hearty dinner, I made my way back to my room to call it a night. Radisson does go above and beyond to take care of you. As a thoughtful touch, I found soaked almonds waiting in my room as they are good for the heart. Adding to the ambiance, my bed had rose petals, invoking a sense of tranquillity that embraced me as I settled in for the night, drifting off into a peaceful slumber.
The following morning, I awoke refreshed and ready to seize the day. A quick breakfast provided the perfect start, and with a renewed sense of energy, I bid farewell to Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport. Reflecting on my brief but rejuvenating stay, I departed with a profound appreciation for the exceptional hospitality and the unparalleled experience of my 24 hours spent in Delhi.
