City of Dreams, Sri Lanka’s largest investment and South Asia’s first integrated resort, opened its doors to redefine the future and economy of the island nation.
There are moments in a nation’s story that feel like turning pages. The opening of City of Dreams Sri Lanka in Colombo is one such moment. Set along the capital’s evolving skyline, the newly opened City of Dreams, Colombo, is deemed to be South Asia’s first integrated resort and the country’s largest private investment, born from a powerful partnership between John Keells Holdings and Melco Resorts & Entertainment (Melco).
The vision is simple. To create a destination that speaks luxury but also will give you the true feel of Sri Lanka’s heart and soul. More than 500 Sri Lankan artisans, designers, and hospitality professionals have worked alongside Melco’s global experts to craft everything from hand-carved interiors to curated art installations.

The integrated resort unfurls like a miniature city with two striking hotels — Cinnamon Life @ City of Dreams with 687 stylish rooms and the ultra-luxurious NUWA @ City of Dreams with 113 keys for those who seek quiet extravagance. There’s a Melco-operated casino and entertainment complex to rival the best in Macau or Manila, 17 signature restaurants and bars where world-class chefs reimagine Sri Lankan and global flavours, and a luxury retail promenade that pairs international names with the country’s own boutique stars.

It is also designed as a stage for the world: state-of-the-art event spaces for MICE, cultural festivals, and marquee gatherings, making Colombo a serious contender in the global events circuit. The launch of the hotel brought together acclaimed artists, including Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and several other local and international artists. The event also highlighted immersive multimedia installations and culinary showcases to represent its belief in merging luxury, culture and unforgettable experiences.
