Conceptualised in 2017 on the basis of a homestay, PaliGhar Farmstays nestles near Kalimpong, a quaint Himalayan Town in West Bengal. Spread over three acres of scenic farmland and a mere 30-minute drive away from the town, PaliGhar warmly offers a true understanding of the rural life without compromising on comfort. The cosy two-room property consists of attached bathrooms, lush paddy fields and the neighbouring hills.

Unlike other homestays and properties that bank on ‘Work from Home’, guests are encouraged here to leave behind their work and embrace being one with nature as you reconnect with yourself.

Of course, in line with India Unlock 3.0, PaliGhar has imposed several health and hygiene protocols in place - providing safety for both the staff and the guests.

Along with keeping the surroundings clean with the spraying of disinfectants, the staff will be at service masked and gloved. A thermal gun will be used to check the temperature of guests during check-in and hand sanitisers will be placed in certain areas across the farmstay. Additionally, a list of emergency numbers has been placed in the common areas in case of any crises.

Nothing tops a stay better than good food, and PaliGhar has it all sorted. Delve in homely food cooked using fresh and organic produce from the farm. Guests can also join in to help pick seasonal vegetables and fruits, or even join the PaliGhar team in preparing a meal to learn the fine art of cooking Nepali cuisine.

A stay in PaliGhar also involves getting hands-on experience in the fields during the paddy plantation season, visiting the neighbouring villages, or simply relaxing in the lap of nature. One can hike around the villages, visit the Relli riverside, take a trip around Kalimpong and spot the varying sights, or simply relax on the property and learn about our farming techniques, and even stir up a traditional Nepali meal (or momos)!
