Celebrating the Doyenne: Ishita Singhal

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Ishita Singhal is the Founder of Sass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing Strategy, Social Media and Influencer Marketing company involved in creating an impactful brand image for diverse brands in the Indian market.

What is your wellness philosophy?

My wellness philosophy centers around maintaining a consistent routine that helps keep me both physically and mentally healthy. Each morning, I make it a priority to get up early and engage in a rigorous workout routine. By committing to at least five days of exercise per week, I am able to stay in shape while also reducing stress and anxiety. Additionally, I believe that proper planning is the key to staying organized and focused throughout the day. That's why I rely on a daily planning diary to help me map out my tasks and responsibilities. This not only allows me to be more productive, but it also helps me maintain a sense of calm and order in my life. I recognize the importance of taking time to clear my mind and reflect on my thoughts and emotions. To achieve this, I make it a point to meditate for at least ten minutes every three days.

Your success mantra?

My success mantra is centered around maintaining a consistently positive outlook, both in my interactions with clients and in my management of my team. This means taking the time to truly understand the needs and desires of my clients, as well as staying attuned to the unique strengths and challenges of each individual on my team.

By cultivating a calm and supportive demeanor, I've found that I'm able to foster an environment of mutual respect and trust. This not only leads to greater job satisfaction for my team members but also translates into improved productivity and a more efficient workflow. When my clients see that I truly care about their needs and am willing to go the extra mile to ensure their satisfaction, they're more likely to trust in my abilities and continue working with me in the future. Ultimately, I believe that success is achieved through a combination of hard work, dedication, and a willingness to put others first.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

When I first started Sass, I was working as a beauty PR specialist and had always focused on beauty brands. Initially, we only had beauty brands on board, but as my team and organization grew, I realized the importance of exploring new industries and learning new skills. We expanded our horizons to include clients in the hospitality, interior design, and F&B industries, which helped me grow personally and professionally.

In my experience, one common mistake that entrepreneurs make is sticking only to what they know and not being open to new opportunities. This can limit their growth and prevent them from discovering new passions and talents. As entrepreneurs, it's important to be curious and willing to learn about different industries, even if they don't seem directly related to your expertise. This can lead to unexpected successes and opportunities for growth.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

One piece of advice I would give to all the women out there is to not let the patriarchal society deter you from achieving your goals. Although the fight for gender equality is ongoing, it's crucial to keep pushing forward and not let societal norms hold you back. In addition to aiming for financial freedom, it's important to strive for time and location freedom as well. Having the ability to work from anywhere and manage your own schedule can provide a sense of empowerment and flexibility.

That being said, it's equally important to maintain a healthy balance between your personal and work life. Remember, success should not come at the cost of your mental or physical health.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

As an entrepreneur, one of my greatest sources of pride is the progress that we have made as an organization in the field of Sass Communications. Looking back at where we started and where we are now, I am incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication that has gone into building this business. Throughout this journey, I have gained invaluable knowledge and experience that has helped me grow both personally and professionally.

Another major achievement that I am proud of is our high client retention rate. Retaining 80% of our clients for more than a year is a testament to the quality of our services and the relationships that we have built with our customers. It motivates us to continue delivering the best possible solutions to their needs.
