Celebrating the Doyenne: Dr. Stuti Khare Shukla

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Dr. Stuti Khare Shukla is the MD Dermatologist and Director, Elements of Aesthetics Clinics. She is popularly called as the hair growth Queen of India and is an internationally acclaimed Dermatologist for her non surgical hair growth treatment.

What is your wellness philosophy?

Calm Mind, Healthy Diet and Spirituality has been my power tool for balancing an overly busy professional life.

Your success mantra?

Recently I won the award of being the Power Woman of India for my contribution in the medical field of non surgical hair growth treatment. As a woman from a very middle class background, I have seen all types of roadblocks in life, but if you can dream, you can also achieve. I feel every woman is a Power Woman in herself, every single woman juggles between responsibilities. But there are very few of us who do not bow down in front of the situation. Hard work, Determination, and Courage take you a very long way. For me the challenges I faced in life were very intense, from marrying at a very young age, to giving birth to a child when I was still a medical student, to the International Fellowships and living apart from my son for many years for establishing a career. Success never knows shortcuts. Hard work, Passion & Dedication have been an asset. I love my work. Every night before sleeping, I set my target and every morning when I wake up I work extremely hard to accomplish the target well before the timeline.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

To not expect the world to be good if you have done good in Life. As a woman entrepreneur, when I began my career, I used to trust everyone around me. With time, I learnt to be wiser with my choice of people around me. Also, I learnt to be much stronger and bolder with my mistakes, my honesty and dedication with work was so intense that it could conceal all the negativities in life.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

My advice to all the women out there that we always have options in life, option to get disheartened and an option to gather the courage again and do better in life. In this competitive world, we as women always have to prove ourselves, rather than trying to prove ourselves to the others, focus on what gives you a sense of pride as a person. Rather than taking the negativities in life, just devote yourself entirely into chasing the opportunities. As I always say that we have every single reason to bow down in front of the negativities life but choose to chase every single opportunity in Life.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

Mother Theresa is a symbol of womanhood - Kind, Humble and Compassionate. I grew listening her stories as a child and I decided to become a doctor to serve the needy. When I was in 8th standard, I decided to help the poor people girls around me, that time I used to get 100 Rs as pocket money and I used to spend it all helping the needy people, since that day I have been helping several women for education. Being compassionate is the only way we as humans can have a better world to live.
