“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Anika Wadhera is the Marketing Head of Sirona.

What is your wellness philosophy?

I think wellness is a multifaceted approach focusing on all aspects of well-being, focusing on both physical and mental health. There is a strong connection between the mind and the body, so our mental wellness is intrinsically tied to our physical health. Hence, I make sure to do activities that are not only good for the body but also relax and calm the mind like exercising, reading, taking a walk, etc.

Your success mantra?

Growing up, we are told that working hard equals success. While this might be it, women especially tend to turn it into a mantra that ends up meaning the following: If I don't work my tail off, I wouldn't deserve success. This will only lead you to burn out eventually and leave you feeling unworthy in the process. Know when to call quits for the day and strive for a work-life balance that leaves you content in all aspects of life.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Acknowledge your mistakes and gaps that you see, analyse why they happened, and then move on. It’s only when we learn from our mistakes is when we grow.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

My advice to all women is just one thing: do not give up. There are good days and there are bad days. Find a method to the madness and keep going.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

Working for a brand like Sirona, which is at the forefront of innovation and is an emerging leader in the Feminine Hygiene space, has made me truly realize the impact we are generating. It gives me immense pride to work with different minds with the aim of creating products and driving conversations that solve problems related to female sexual health and hygiene.
