Pre and post- Holi Skin Care Tips

Here are some Pre and Post skincare tip s for Holi by Ms. Seema Nanda, Founder & Director – Estetico-The Facial Bar, Spa Consultant. 

Holi is a time of celebration, and fun as we celebrate the festival of colours we also come across various skin problems such as skin rashes, pigmentation etc. Here are a few tips to keep up as we celebrate the festival.

Pre-Skincare Tips

  • The more you are covered less are the chances of colors damaging your skin. Wear covering clothes. Wear full sleeve, covering clothes. A physical barrier can give your skin the best protection.
  • Before heading out to play apply oil and moisturizer on your skin.
  • A good amount of sunscreen SPF 50 on face and entire body is a must. Go for a sweat proof & heat proof sunscreen formula.
  • Apply multiple coats of transparent varnish on your nails before going out to play Holi.


Post Skincare Tips

  • After playing Holi, use cleansing milk to make the colors coming off much easily. Once the colors are removed follow with a proper moisturizer to banish any dryness.
  • Homemade packs can help the skin regain its PH balance and radiance. Apply a paste of ripe papaya, add lemon juice and a spoonful of milk powder and apply evenly on your face. Leave it for 20 minutes and then rinse.
  • You can apply a coco yogurt pack to get rid of all the colors from your scalp. Ingredients: 2 tbsp. yogurt, 2 tbsp. honey, 1 tbsp. olive oil (optional) and 2 tbsp. coconut oil. Just mix all the ingredients in a bowl and apply them evenly. Keep it for at least 25 minutes before washing it off with cold water.
