Hey men! Is your tummy peeking out through your shirt buttons but don’t have time for work out after your office? A healthy diet will help your tummy fit within your shirt to some extent. Below is a healthy diet plan for the sedentary male workers:
BREAKFAST
In a hurry to punch in your office on time, the first thing that got deprived is your breakfast. Running late? Just make poach of two full eggs and with those two slices of whole wheat bread. Eggs are rich in protein, vitamins and minerals. Having eggs in your breakfast keep you full and also increase your HDL level. But don’t minus the egg yolk. It contains protein and vitamin B 12 which breaks down fat. And as whole wheat bread are high in fiber and also contains little carbohydrate stays for longer time. You can also have your bread with other protein enrich foods like peanut butter or bacon. Or you can also consume other whole grain options like oatmeal.
LUNCH
However healthy and heavy breakfast you take, it will not stop the hunger to strike you during lunch. Always try to pack some healthy lunch to avoid having outside foods. As you are not physically active during your office hours so pick foods with low GI in your lunch as the conversion rate of these foods into glucose is much slow. Go for whole wheat phulkas or brown rice with a mixed dal or green leafy vegetable or a cup of chicken stew and curd. You can also eat one plate poha, or a plate of vegetable polao with raita is also a good option. It is nutritious and keeps you light.
IN BETWEEN MEALS
Always keep some fruits and nuts with you to satisfy your midwork cravings and take your eyes off those candy bowls.
DINNER
For dinner, always switch to a lighter option. Take two full spoons of rice with a small cup of low carb dal. With that you can add a piece of grilled fish or chicken breast. If you opt for a one-pot meal then there is quinoa or dalia khichdi. They are healthy and easy to make.
BOTTOM LINE
Always remember to eat only when you are hungry, not when there is food. Eat healthy, and stay healthy.
