From artistic face painting to innovative eyebrow techniques, make-up artists are pushing the envelope this summer and are coming up with techniques and styles that have the power to blow your mind and leave you questioning if all this is weirdly appealing or too strange. We have rounded up a few of our favourites (in no particular order) our favorite beauty trends.

• Fishtail Eyebrow

Who would’ve thought that a scar like a look on the eyebrow would look so cool, you would want to try it yourself! This fishtail eyebrow look can be created using nothing but a concealer and a few brow products. This creates a negative space needed for a perfect fishtail brow look and gives you the classic rock-chic look.

• Yellow Blush

Breaking the classic blush colour code, this new trend uses yellow colour to provide a tint to your cheekbones (talk about golden hours turning more golden!). Using a paler colour to highlight your cheekbones sounds pretty weird in theory, but the actual result will for sure leave you questioning if you’ve been underestimating the colour yellow all along. Sweep around your cheekbones and take it up to your eyelids to give it a bolder look and pair it with a winged eyeliner to make yourself the new trendsetter.

• Goth Rhinestones

This year’s Met Gala was a stop for all the latest crazy fashion trends that have been floating around. Goth rhinestones were one of them. Following Lily Collins’ look for the gala which was inspired by the Lady Of sorrow, many make-up artists have attempted to incorporate stones and pieces in their make-up techniques to provide with a little extra edge and boldness to an otherwise ordinary-seeming look.

2018 is all about rainbows and unicorns! This recent hair trend follows just that. Rainbow themed hair colour is totally the look of this summer! this trend grew even more popular in the Pride Month when people started colouring their hair in rainbow flag colours to show their support for the LGBTQ community. Try this yourself and rock multicolour hairstyle like never before.

• Neon Makeup

Neon was already becoming more and more popular in clothing, and now with the use of carefully applied and blended white eyeliner, this neon look is changing the way for all the make-up artists. Pairing it with bright colours and texture, this makeup trend will make sure you stand out from the crowd and will give you little extra “pop”.

• Holographic Highlighter

Holographs are the new catch this season. From holographic dresses to holographic makeup techniques, it blew up so quickly, the make-up artists couldn’t help but attempt this look. Apply the holographic highlighter using a sponge or use your fingers on your cheeks, eye or body on bare skin or over foundation. This look is definitely here to stay!
