A Journey of Senses at The Cinqtuair Spa

By Vidhi Gupta

Revive your body, mind and soul with global pioneering treatments, traditional Ayurvedic rituals, and unique facial treatments at The Cinqtuair Spa at The Claridges New Delhi.

It was the day of self-care and self-love when I decided to visit The Cinqtuair Spa in Delhi. Blending ancient Indian wisdom with contemporary therapies, The Claridges houses Cinqtuair Spa to bring an exquisite haven to revive the senses. Located at the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi, one can tap into the rousing world of profound contentment, security, and tranquillity. The spa represents the 5 elements of wellness – move, feel, look, think and live.

I was greeted by my spa therapist with an extensive spa menu of massages, ayurvedic treatments, and restorative rituals & therapies. From Moisturizing Candle Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, and Pizhichil Treatment, to Hydrating Sea Salt and Crystal Rose Body Polisher, Red Mud Wrap, and Clarifying Facials, there was a lot to choose from. After a brief discussion and analysis of my skin and body needs, I couldn’t decide between Cinqtuair Signature Massage and Abhyangam Traditional Massage. The former was a special massage that combines Aromatherapy and Balinese massage to ease the muscle tension and soothe the nerves, and the latter was a traditional Indian massage with Ayurvedic herbal oil in symmetrical strokes. After due consideration, I finally decided to go ahead with Abhyangam Traditional Massage.

My therapy room was like a mini suite with its own sauna and steam room, a shower cubicle, and a soak in tub. The room was painted with tropical elements, inducing a sense of being close to nature. A TV in my room had a live wallpaper which showed different colours on the screen in motion. My therapist informed me it was a source of colour therapy while simultaneously having my massage. The calm music, dim lighting, and the flashes of colour in my room immediately took me on a path of relaxation. Beginning with a foot ritual, an ancient tradition symbolizing purifying of the soul to open the positive energy channel, my masseuse began with strokes with the help of warm Ayurvedic herbal oil. The massage helps improve physical consistency, elevates vigor and vitality, improves eyesight, promotes sleep and encourages glowing skin. After the massage, I step into a steam bath followed by a hot shower, which assists in oil absorption and relief of specific health conditions. I then stepped into my tub, which was prepared with milk and rose petals, to complete the treatment.

After a good massage and sipping on my herbal hibiscus tea, it was time for me to try Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for the first time. It is a closed chamber which releases only pure oxygen. It speeds up the body’s healing processes by increasing oxygenation levels. You can either lay down, sit and read a book, use your devices, or even take a nap while you are taking the HBOT therapy. The oxygen does give a little discomfort in the ear, just how it feels while taking off or landing in an airplane, but soon it disappears once you get acclimatized to it. There are other machines such as Normatee Compression Therapy, Red Light Therapy and Cryo EM, introduced in the capital by The Claridges.

Cinqtuair Spa, as part of its experience, houses a sauna, steam room, and an indoor wave pool. When it comes to food, a special food menu is available which features a variety of dishes, made with the freshest vegetables for detoxification.

All in all, I was rejuvenated and at peace when I left the spa. The Cinqtuair Spa celebrates your well-being with therapies that guide you on the path of consciousness to unveil an awakening, within and out. It is a journey of the senses, a journey towards longevity, a journey that leads you inwards with ultimate relaxation and glamorous pampering.
