Valentine’s Day is a fun-filled time to showcase your love to the ones you love the most. But that mostly comes in the lieu of sweet and sugary treats. However, there is always a scope to alter your food in such a way that not just does it feel delicious on your tongue but also it should contain a healthy dose of nutrients too. By adopting healthy snack ideas, you can ensure good health, and by doing so you indirectly convey that you truly care for the health of loved ones as well. With simply a little bit of planning and plenty of fruits and vegetables, you can give healthy Valentine’s Day snacks that will still hit the taste buds of your loved ones.
Fruit Salad
Mix together some nutrient-rich red and pink colored fruits: Pomegranate seeds are full of antioxidants, strawberries and cherries are filled with vitamin C powerhouses and red apples are an excellent source of fiber. Great for breakfast or a snack, an antioxidant-rich red fruit salad is as beautiful in appearance as it is highly nutrient-rich.
Fruit parfait with yogurt
To top off your perfect Valentine’s Day, this parfait made of fruits and yogurt is a pretty and nutritious dessert to enjoy. All you require is yogurt, granola, and fresh berries. Layer the granola, vanilla yogurt, and your choice of any of the berries with yogurt in a cup to make this super festive p treat for the day of love. Use Greek yogurt if you are looking for that added source of protein. Finish off your perfect parfait by decorating it with berries and some heart-shaped sprinkles.
Vegetables with a message
Have a few red bell pepper slices, baby carrots, or celery into multiple thin strips and write a sweet surprise message. Watch for the classic conversation hearts for ideas—think about fun phrases such as “MY SWEET LOVE,” “LUV U” or “BE MINE.” Pair these vegetables with your partner’s favorite hummus for a nutritious rich and filling snack.
Fruit platter
If being artistic is an issue, then no issues, this is perhaps one of the simplest yet healthy combinations to have. Cut several fruits into small pieces take as much as you can have. Then try to fill them in a plate using various shapes. Align fruits as per the colors accordingly from top to bottom. You can have them into any shape for example a heart-shaped design made with slice fruits with starting with sliced strawberries on top, followed by sliced pineapples, melons, and in the bottom berries. These are some of the ways by which one can enjoy Valentine’s Day. Rather than indulging in all those added sugar-based cakes or candies, it is better to go for healthier options. Specifically, for those who are always health-conscious.
