Best Low-Impact Workouts for A High-Stress Life

What's that stress all about! Aren't we hearing it with every second person we meet? In today's era, stress cannot vanish away but we sure can make it less worrisome.

We can stress out emotionally or mentally or physically. Our lifestyle, workload, family, society etc. All add a lot to being anxious and stressed. So what can be done which doesn’t require too much effort and ends up with an individual feeling lot better and able to deal with things next day?

*Exercise* highly underrated antidote to remove stress!

But what comes to mind first when we hear the word workout? Painful, boring, Tiring, time consuming BUT know that when we subject our body to any external load it reacts to that stimulus amazingly; the by product –

    • A better body composition

    • Good heart health

    • Improved insulin level and glucose levels

    • Improved cognitive functioning

    • Good mood, less anxiety and happy hormones to face what comes next!

When we want to step into a do-able regime, find a habit, a positive experience, and an exercise structure which is not taxing enough but still brings activity enhancement. Ahead of it is focus on parameters like

    1. Muscular strength: The ability of your muscles to exert maximum force for one repetition.

    2. Muscular endurance: The ability of muscles to perform an action continuous without getting tired.

    3. Cardiovascular health: It is the ability of heart and lungs to support the working muscles by providing necessary fuel.

    4. Flexibility: Body’s ability to move around its entire range of motion without any discomfort.

How to start all this? Start your journey with ease and some exercises not to feel overwhelmed and also having little to no impact on your body and joints.

Always ensure least 10 mins to mobility drills which help in losing up those stiff joints and help to get rid of muscle tightness.

Once done with mobility chooses a set of 4-5 exercises which are comfortable to perform. E.g. Squats, spot jogging, rope skipping, jumping jacks, lunges, push ups, hip thrusts. These compound exercises involve multi-joint movements that work several muscles or muscle groups at one time. Improvise when these exercise becomes easy and level up accordingly.

Your fitness routine should not feel like a task or burden to finish off. It should be an invincible part of day just like your food or sleep is; to come up to you as naturally as these things do.
