Riverside Luxury in Thailand

Luxury, wellness and immersive Thai experiences await at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort.

Surrounded by views of the Chao Phraya River, frangipani trees and Thai elements everywhere you look, Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort is a sanctuary designed to let you exhale. Positioned as Bangkok’s only urban resort, it offers ample space to rest and recuperate in luxury. The 376 rooms and suites open out to river views or lush green pockets, and once you step onto your balcony, it’s easy to forget you’re minutes away from one of Asia’s busiest capitals.

“Spending a weekend in my favourite city, Bangkok, and staying at Anantara Riverside felt like discovering a calm oasis amidst the city’s bustle,” shares Amrita Thakur, Content Creator & Style Curator, who recently experienced the resort with GlobalSpa. “It was all about food, wellness, and the signature warmth of Southeast Asian hospitality.”

Wellness has always been Anantara’s strong suit, and The Anantara Spa here is a fine example. With nine treatment rooms and signature rituals like the Signature Rice Ritual and the Tibetan Sound Healing Massage, it is a haven for rest and recovery. “After exploring the city and soaking up the sun by the pool, the spa was the perfect way to unwind — much needed and so rejuvenating,” adds Amrita.

There is also a focus on preventative medicine at the newly launched Anantara Wellness, which encompasses IV drips, allergy tests, Botox treatments and more. For the active, yoga on the lawn or Muay Thai classes under the open sky remind you that movement, too, can be meditative.

With its global lineup of restaurants, the property caters to every whim. The Riverside Terrace doles out Thai and international cuisine with live cultural performances, while Benihana, a Japanese steakhouse, delivers sizzling teppanyaki theatre. Head to Brio if you crave Italian and an extensive wine menu. Spice & Barley plates up modern Chinese specialities, while the Polynesian-themed Trader Vic’s offers fusion cuisine. “One of my most memorable meals was a miso-glazed cod for lunch, followed by cocktails by the pool — absolute perfection,” says Amrita. “And of course, my first order of the day had to be mango sticky rice!”

“Another highlight was dining at the rooftop restaurant — the views were simply unparalleled. You have to be there to believe it; the food and drinks matched the vibes to perfection,” she recalls.

You can take private boat shuttles across the Chao Phraya to explore Bangkok’s bustling markets and temples or join curated excursions that dive deeper into Thai culture, from cooking classes to cultural tours. Within the resort itself, children are entertained at the kids’ club, while adults can lose themselves in wine tastings, riverfront sunsets, or simply meandering through the property’s 11 acres of greenery.
