If you’re yearning for a tranquil escape from the city hustle, Wander Beyond by StayVista is your ultimate retreat. Tucked away in Alibag’s lush hills, this 3-bedroom villa offers a harmonious blend of luxury and nature, making it a perfect haven for anyone looking to unwind. The rustling bamboo leaves, the melodious bird calls, and the vibrant bougainvilleas set the stage for a blissful retreat.

Arriving at Wander Beyond feels like stepping into a serene painting. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the villa’s breathtaking exterior. The villa’s design is inspired by the traditional Indian aangan, with a stunning plumeria tree right at its heart. The lush greenery of the surrounding mountains provided a picturesque backdrop, while the whitewashed walls of the villa, adorned with endless pink bougainvilleas, created an almost otherworldly atmosphere, blending seamlessly with the verdant landscape.

However, the charm of Wander Beyond extends well beyond its beautiful facade. The thoughtful design of the villa blurs the lines between indoors and outdoors, inviting nature into every corner.

Inside, the living area is a breath of fresh air, combining spaciousness with cozy charm. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows create a sense of openness while maintaining a cozy, homely atmosphere. Meanwhile, the minimalist Balinese decor adds a touch of elegance. The open kitchen with its wooden bar top and bar stools is perfect for casual gatherings, and it seamlessly flows into the outdoor areas.

The private outdoor pool, the highlight of the villa, was my favourite part. The pool is ideal for a refreshing swim or a relaxing evening by the water, while the pool deck, flanked by loungers and a well-stocked bar, makes it a perfect hangout spot as you sip on your drink while he evening sky paints itself in hues of orange and pink.

The outdoor amenities don’t stop there either. The villa features a spacious BBQ area, complete with a deck where you can fire up the grill and cook up some burgers or hot dogs. Adjacent to this is a delightful bonfire set up—a perfect spot for roasting marshmallows and sharing stories under the starlit sky. There’s also a massive seating area with couches and a dining table sheltered under a bohemian shed, offering a relaxed space for al fresco dining or simply soaking in the tranquillity of your surroundings.

For those who love to entertain, the villa doesn’t disappoint. The living room comes equipped with a TV and a portable music system, so you can enjoy your favourite shows or music while lounging indoors. And if you’re into games, there are plenty of outdoor and indoor options to keep everyone entertained. Whether you’re playing a round of badminton or just kicking back with a good book, there’s something for everyone here.

The bedrooms are designed with the same attention to detail that characterizes the rest of the villa. Each room is furnished with a queen-sized bed, a walk-in wardrobe, and an ensuite bathroom that features a beautiful outdoor shower area. The Balinese-inspired decor creates a serene ambiance, and the attached balconies offer peaceful spots to take in the views and enjoy a bit of solitude. The master bathroom is a highlight in itself, featuring a gorgeous outdoor shower area surrounded by stones and greenery. It’s like having your own private slice of Bali right here in Alibag.

One of the villa’s most charming features is its central veranda. This space, with its low couches and comfortable mattresses, harks back to old India-era style and provides a perfect spot for lounging or simply enjoying the surrounding greenery. The pavilion on the side of the property is another great relaxation area, offering a cozy retreat amidst the villa.

The caretakers at Wander Beyond are incredibly attentive and ensured that every aspect of my stay was perfect. Shabana, the villa’s cook, prepared a delicious lunch that complemented the relaxed, earthy vibes of the villa. The house was impeccably clean, and the service was both warm and unobtrusive.

Wander Beyond was not just a place to stay, it was a perfect relaxing getaway and a chance to really connect with nature—something that’s impossible these days as we go on about our daily lives. Whether you’re birdwatching, counting butterflies, stargazing, or simply enjoying a leisurely swim, the villa offers a perfect escape from the chaos of everyday life.
