A World Above the Clouds with Lufthansa

With redesigned cabins and a more individualised approach to comfort, Lufthansa’s Allegris has become a travel experience.

The influx in travel, increasing connectivity, and the growing interaction of different cultures are making distant places feel closer and bringing people across borders. In this growing conversation, the attitude with which we approach different modes of travel is changing. Beyond larger seats and premium amenities, we have begun looking for experiences that reflect how we prefer to spend our time in the air, and on this scene arrives Lufthansa’s Allegris.

Inside Lufthansa Allegris

Lufthansa introduced Allegris with new seating, quality materials and modern technology. Rather than treating comfort as a singular proposition, Allegris recognises that we, as travellers, have different expectations from a journey, whether that means sleeping uninterrupted, working in peace or sharing the experience with a companion. Available on selected long-haul flights from Frankfurt and Munich, Allegris seeks to steep you in comfort as you to destinations across North America, South America, Africa and Asia, including New York, Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Tokyo, and is expected to expand further.

First Class: Designed for Comfort

With individual suites featuring floor-to-ceiling privacy walls and doors that close, Allegris is redefining the face of First Class by creating a sense of separation from the wider cabin. Inside, the emphasis is on space and personal comfort, with nearly one-metre-wide, temperature adjustable seats, a 32-inch entertainment screen, wireless over-ear headphones and a personal wardrobe. The standout is the Suite Plus, designed for when you are flying with company or simply wish for some additional space. Its two seats can be converted into a double bed, and a large screen reinforces the sense of travelling in a space of your own. The combination makes the suite feel less like a conventional aircraft and more like a compact private room designed for the duration of the flight.

Business Class that Offers Choice

Business Class is where Allegris most clearly challenges the idea of standard seating. Instead of a uniform cabin, you will be offered suites with chest-high walls, sliding doors, and can choose from five distinct seat types, each designed around a different need. Every option is designed to provide direct aisle access, while the suite concept adds another layer of separation from the cabin. The appeal is the ability to tailor the journey to its purpose. A red-eye flight might call for a longer bed and greater privacy; a daytime crossing could be better spent working, watching a film or enjoying the view from a window seat. Allegris Business Class makes these preferences part of the booking decision rather than leaving comfort entirely to chance.

A Closer Look at Premium Economy

Between the expansiveness of Business Class and the practicality of Economy lies a category that has become increasingly relevant to long-haul travellers: Premium Economy. Allegris approaches this middle ground with a hard-shell seat design that provides additional personal space without requiring passengers to move into a fully premium cabin. The hard-shell construction is designed to allow the seat to recline without intruding as directly into the space behind it, addressing a familiar irritation on closely-packed flights. Noise-cancellation headphones, a sleek centre armrest and wireless charging add to the experience. The proposition is straightforward: a more comfortable environment with enough additional room to make several hours in the air feel less restrictive.

Maximising Comfort in Economy Class

Allegris also brings Lufthansa’s design philosophy to Economy, where small improvements can have a meaningful effect over the course of a long flight. The cabin features ergonomic seating, wider seats, personal entertainment screens, USB ports and tablet holders, giving passengers more convenient ways to work or unwind. Technology and lighting contribute to the wider experience. The onboard entertainment system supports Bluetooth connectivity, allowing passengers to connect compatible personal devices, while human-centric lighting is designed to support the body's adjustment to changing time zones. Comfort, here, is shaped by how well the cabin responds to the practical realities of flying.

Allegris reflects a shift in how we conceive journeys. Across all four classes, the emphasis is on giving us greater control over our time in the air, whether through the privacy of a personal suite, the flexibility of a tailored seat, or the considered details that make a long-haul flight more comfortable. As Lufthansa continues to expand Allegris across its fleet and network, the experience signals a move towards a more individualised approach to flying, where the cabin is designed to respond to our varied needs rather than requiring us to adjust to it.
