The wind in my hair, the blue of the sea, and the quiet luxury of Trisara, Phuket.
I remember the childlike excitement bubbling in me as my car rolled through the gates of Trisara. The world suddenly opened into a vast canvas of blue sky melting into the sea. Trisara, meaning “The Garden in the Third Heaven” in Sanskrit, truly lives up to its name. The moment you arrive, it feels as if you’ve stepped into a heavenly garden hugged by nature. Set within a protected nature preserve, the resort is wrapped in tropical forest, exotic landscaped gardens, and the shimmering Andaman Sea.

The minute I checked in, I couldn’t resist jumping onto a resort tour. The pathways wind through shades of green, flanked by lotus ponds where buds wait patiently to bloom and tiny fish glide just beneath the surface. The wind is always in your hair here, and the colour blue follows you everywhere. Sometimes it’s the glint of the sea, sometimes the endless sky.
And if there’s one thing I can say with absolute certainty, it’s this: every pool at Trisara is exceptional in its own way. Whether it’s the private pool in your private villa, the sprawling one attached to an eight-bedroom residence, or the resort’s main pool— each one is so irresistible that choosing a favourite feels almost impossible.

The Stay
There are very few hotel rooms in the world that make you instantly feel at home and at Trisara, I found one of those rare gems. My room opened directly to an uninterrupted view of the sea, where the horizon seemed to come alive every morning, and a private pool with a sundeck.

The wardrobes in my room made me unpack my entire suitcase, vanity included, and displayed everything as if I had moved in for weeks. The study table, placed perfectly by natural light, made me want to work with sincerity during my stay. And the outdoor shower made every bath feel like a moment in a tropical forest. Everywhere I looked, there were delicate touches like the lotus buds, orchid blooms, and little notes of Thai designs placed in corners.

For those travelling with friends or family, Trisara’s private residence villas are a world of their own. Ranging from two to nine bedrooms, each residence comes with its own garden, private pool, and a fully equipped kitchen. Essentially a resort within a resort, entirely yours! I could picture these spaces hosting pre-wedding parties, grand family holidays, or chic bachelorette getaways where your best friends spend their days lounging by the pool and having a spa day.

Speaking of spa rituals, Trisara’s Jara Spa deserves its own spotlight. And guess what the floor to ceiling windows of the spa open to? The Ocean! Imagine a therapist soothing every knot and nerve while you gaze at the sea. It’s the kind of experience that relaxes the body and resets the soul.
Dining
My first night at Trisara began at La Crique, an effortlessly chic restaurant with a sunken open kitchen at its centre. From my table, I could watch the chefs orchestrate every detail, transforming fresh seafood into plates with a subtle French twist. Dishes like salade de crabe, sole meunière, and perfectly grilled tiger prawns set the tone for the night. And the desserts? Absolutely chef’s kiss- from the delicate strawberry and chocolate mousse to colourful, flavour-packed sorbets.

To dive deeper into Thai flavours, I signed up for the resort’s Thai cooking class, which turned out to be the perfect introduction to the cuisine. It’s a hands-on, sensory experience where you chop vegetables, taste sauces, stir simmering pots, plate your own dishes, and later enjoy them at dinner. I paused often just to inhale the aromas of raw ingredients and learn where each came from. The chef made the entire process wonderfully simple, and suddenly Thai cuisine felt warm, accessible, and deeply connected to its origins.

For a journey across the Silk Road, Cielo & Spice is your next stop. The menu brings fragrant tagines, rich curries, and beautifully grilled meats to life. Two dishes you absolutely cannot go wrong with: the Mezze Platter and the Spaghetti Lobster, both unforgettable in their own ways.

Of course, no culinary exploration at Trisara is complete without mentioning PRU, the only MICHELIN-Starred restaurant in Southern Thailand. Broadening ‘farm-to-fork’ to embrace the wider local community, PRU experience uses artisanal products throughout the customer journey. From lounge chairs to the tiles used to the artwork decorating its walls, PRU highlights community crafted products.
And equally plausible is JAMPA, a farm-to-table restaurant, which earned the prestigious MICHELIN Green Star in its first year! Dining at JAMPA begins not at the table, but at the farm that nourishes it. The experience takes you through rows of thriving vegetation where you can touch, smell, and taste the ingredients that end up on your plate. I saw cocoa pods hanging from trees, berries, blooming butterfly pea flowers, herbs, chillies, bananas, tomatoes, and even a sustainable bee-based honey harvesting method. This farm is more than a visit; it’s a reconnection with the land and the heart of the Trisara community. It supplies PRU, JAMPA, and the rest of the resort’s restaurants with fresh, organic produce. There are lotus ponds and serene lakes within the area, and also a raw, wooden, dining area called HiDEAWAY by JAMPA.

The philosophy at JAMPA is truly inspiring: farm-to-table, zero waste, hyper-local sourcing, live-fire cooking, and a plant-forward menu. The dishes are light, colourful, and bursting with flavour. And the mocktails are refreshingly exceptional with real flavours. The heirloom tomato with strawberry and bael fruit brings a great tangy flavour. The dessert was a theatrical when a frosted pineapple was cut and a mixture of seasonal fruits like mulberry and passionfruit were inside, marinating. So fresh and so real!
The restaurant is a short drive from the property, but an unforgettable part of the Trisara experience.
The Thai touches, the charming little statue that doubles as a “do not disturb” sign, water vases filled with fresh flowers, the endless ocean and private beach, the flavourful meals- this is Trisara at its heart: quiet, effortless luxury.
