What is your wellness philosophy?
Wellness philosophy is ever evolving, when I was studying it was about making sure I'm eating and sleeping on time to keep up with my hectic studies, now as an entrepreneur it's a challenge to take out time for self-care, now, it has become essential to take out time for my wellness regime. One of the key factors for wellness is good deep sleep and as I struggle with that, reading prior to bed, taking cbd and doing guided meditation really helps.
Your success mantra?
I am a firm believer that hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work, work hard. I am not afraid of hustling, and that has made all the difference.
A lesson you learned from making a mistake?
The Best way to learn and grow is by making mistakes, so I make plenty! But one mistake which was a big learning curve was effective delegation. Just giving a task to someone doesn't take it off your plate, tracking progress, checking-in and making sure it's going in the right direction is still our own responsibility. I learned this repeatedly the hard way and now can proudly say it's an asset.
Any piece of advice for all the women out there?
Financial independence and having your own unique identity away from your spouse, family, partner is absolutely essential. In today's world where remote working has opened up many doors, I feel women have a great opportunity to grow and should give as much importance to their own careers as our male counterparts.
What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?
My biggest pride is my company Awshad, which is a tribute to my dog, Champ, who I lost to cancer. It's a promise delivered to make sure no other human or pet suffers from pain and other ailments and leads a fuller life.
