Celebrating the Doyenne: Nehaa Juneja

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Nehaa Juneja is the Founder of SkinWorks, a Gurgaon based skin care home startup.

What is your wellness philosophy?

For me, wellness is more than just a physical state of being fit, eating well, grooming, and looking fine. Maintaining a healthy attitude, keeping positive feelings, and maintaining mental health is just as vital as maintaining physical wellness. These two things are intertwined; what we eat and add to our skin is part of physical wellness and will provide us with benefits; on the other hand, the thoughts and emotions we have are part of mental wellness. To achieve a healthy mental and physical well-being, it is critical to get enough sleep, meditate, and practice yoga, especially Pranayam. The road to wellness is a powerful way to respect not just your depth of being, but also the depths of others and nature, and it all starts by simply accepting yourself and others as mind, body, and spirit. (Yes, nature too, has a soul.) If you think about it long enough, you’ll note that miracles abound in daily life and that everyday life is miraculous in and of itself. As a result, if you practice being well and inspire others to do the same, you can discover that you are happier, healthier, and wiser.

Your success mantra?

Persistence is my performance motto. I believe that change is inevitable, for the better, and that it leads to prosperity. Learning is a normal human instinct; we have to learn continuously to evolve since we were born. We must still be willing to learn new things. To be competitive in business, one must be willing to adapt to new ways of doing things, as well as new technologies and developments. Work-life balance is another critical success mantra that I adhere to.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

Mistakes are stepping blocks to progress and understanding. Making mistakes is both normal and human. What matters is that you recognize them, forgive them, and make amends. Some errors are obvious right away, while others can take a long time to notice, but they all need acceptance and correction.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

Have a lot of respect and affection for yourself at all times. Give yourself the time and attention you deserve because when you love yourself, you will give a lot of love to others. Women are women, and they have a lot of self-care, determination, patience, and resilience in them. They ensure that the needs of all parties involved are well taken care of, whether as caretakers, at the heart of every household, or as owners of businesses. Women will find fulfillment by ensuring that the world in which they live is comfortable and positive. Last but not least, never underestimate the power of your thinking. Believe in yourself, and everything you imagine is possible.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

Looking through my journey and seeing how my vision has evolved into a brand and collection of ethical natural skincare goods that are loved by users all over India is my greatest source of pride. It brings me great joy and pride to see my products providing excellent service to customers. Hearing from customers on how our products have helped them and how they find our products to be a good balance of quality and value is extremely satisfying. I want to keep going and keep creating wonderful products made from the finest natural ingredients, as well as reaching out to an ever-growing number of people with this line.
