The ‘Nirmooha’ label by designer Prreeti Jaiin Nainutia has always been a fun filled offering each season. At Lakmē Fashion Week, in partnership with FDCI, Nirmooha showcased a great look for men and women called “Ekatra.”

The title of the collection had a very deep, philosophical meaning that described the collection in a subtle manner. It was seen as examining the underlying principles of individuality and incorporating various components that work together harmoniously, which in turn results in a collective impact greater than each individual part. The inspiration was an interesting version of botanic forms, interconnected tree roots and abstract patterns. This inspiration was cleverly translated into hand embroidered prints and silhouettes.

The show opened with Abhimanyu Dasani gracing the ramp in a regal, shimmering jacket paired with a kurta-shirt ensemble, setting the tone for the rest of the presentation. The fabrics chosen by Prreeti were both thoughtful and glamorous, as chiffon lurex, glass organza, and shimmer georgette moved gracefully to Chantilly, modal satin, crepe, and georgette, and then ended with organza and tulle.

Colours were the mainstay of the “Ekatra” collection, as rust, Savana and peach fuzz came in unison with cool matcha, sustained grey and deep plum. Following the inspiration, there were abstract leaf prints, which were creatively highlighted by embellishments.

Designing a wardrobe that will appeal to a wide section of fashionable men and women, Prreeti unfolded a line of oversized blazers and shirts, then brought in baggy pants and flared trousers. She ensured that the popular corsets were very much on the ramp, while the draped skirts, swirling capes, traditional lehenga sets and creatively draped saris were fashion favourites. Cutouts played a major role for many of the ensembles by adding an appealing detailing technique that was eye-catching.

The “Ekatra” collection by Prreeti Jaiin Nainutia for her label ‘Nirmooha’ was all about creating a great summer wardrobe that will be ideal for globe-trotting and holidaying right through the coming season for trendsetting men and women.

The show concluded on a high note, with Aditi Rao Hydari dazzling in a trio of flared cocktail pants, a tiny blouse, and a floor-sweeping cape adorned with abstract motifs. Speaking about the collection, Prreeti Jaiin Nainutia shared her insights, emphasising the importance of abstract elements in nature and the luxurious touch added by signature embroidery.

Overall, Nirmooha’s “Ekatra” collection offers a refreshing take on summer wardrobe essentials, perfect for globe-trotting and holidaying in style.
