Your home is a reflection of your life and its special moments! And weddings make it to the top of life's pivotal and endearing phases. This calls for revamping and decorating to make your home extra special during the wedding season.
Madhavi Adalja, Resin Art Artist shares how to weave magic into the hues of colourful fabrics and prep your house before the wedding festivities kick in!
One innovative way to do so is by restyling your bookcase! For example, you could add some glamour to your shelf with resin, glitter, and crystals to strip the old and monotonous look from this crucial element of your home. By using colours that reflect the celebration or the theme of your wedding, you can elevate your bookcase even more! Another decor hack would be to colour-coordinate the books on your shelf. You can do so by choosing particular colours that tie the home together and stacking books of that colour together. And adding some more resin art of this colour may give it an even more artistic look that will be the talk of every occasion.
And now for the game changer: lighting. Good lighting changes everything. You could start by changing the existing lighting and adding beautiful river lamps to enhance your space. Resin is the optimum choice for this material of this as it never rusts or corrodes. In fact, it is even resistant to stains and can withstand a lot of impact damage due to its highly flexible makeup. Because of these qualities, it’ll maintain the fresh and modern look of your space. You can even customize your resin lamp with other ingredients ranging from dried flowers and crystals to just a classic transparent resin.
Make a new crystal resin front door. “The welcome home” sign never gets old.
Another fun way to spruce up your home is to add some personality to your cabinet doors and drawers. You can do so by upcycling old furniture with geode! Not only are you revamping already existing furniture sustainably, but you are also creating unique and through-provoking changes. If changing up an entire closet is too much, you can even just change and replace the doorknobs with some avant-garde resin pieces! This could give you just the change you are looking for without completely transforming the space. If you are a fan of nautical decor, you can even explore using ropes instead of traditional pulls in dressers or drawers. This is both thrifty and rustic. It is the perfect accent for a lakeside cottage, a country home by the river, or a beach bungalow.
As for the bigger changes, you could paint an accent wall of your house like a geode. The distinct colours and the vein-like swirls of marble are a sight for sore eyes. And more importantly, they don’t ever get tiring. You could even dress your windows with new festive curtains and have colourful silk pillow covers on your couch!
And for the nerve centre of every house: the dining and kitchen. No celebration is vibrant without the presence of food. And adorning these areas could be transformative in your revamping process. You could revamp the kitchen counter with resin, buy new tableware, table mats, and napkin rings, and even replace your dining table! Replacing the large dining table that is hardly used in your house with a space-economic resin table, there will be an illusion of more space in your home!
My entire philosophy as an artist is to bring art to everyday life. That’s why you will always find me creating items that are around us on a daily basis. This includes everything from wall art and home décor to gifts and wallpapers. I like to make artwork that people just want to pause and observe. There is so much beauty in our natural world and so much to take inspiration from as an artist. The textures, patterns, and colours of naturally forming geodes are what I explore with this collection of artworks, aiming to bring the lure of these organic forms to our inside spaces. ”Working with resin, inks, and various mixed media, I strive to recreate the outside world, often incorporating a rich and varied colour palette, along with a range of metallics for added opulence.
