5 Toxic Morning Habits To Quit Right Away

Set the right tone for your day with these toxic habits you shall quit.

Without a proper schedule to stick to, life does get off track and along with that our daily rituals – especially the mornings.

To make sure your quarantine days are just as productive as the usual ones, take a look at some of these toxic morning habits that allow otherwise:

HITTING THE SNOOZE BUTTON

We’re all constantly guilty of this one, however we shouldn’t be. Studies suggest that snoozing off your alarm means getting into another sleep cycle you probably won’t be able to complete and you’ll eventually wake up feeling tired and groggy! In order to get done with this bad habit, try to plan your day overnight so you have something to look forward to.

HEADING STRAIGHT FOR YOUR PHONE

Most of us are inclined to take our phones to bed, naturally making us check our phones first thing in the morning. But if you’re keen on having a better start to your day, stop reaching out for your device as soon as you wake up. It not only clogs your mind with so much information right away, but also tends to laze us and ripples the entire day in less productivity. Stick to waking up without your phone for a few days and you’ll know the difference.

SIFTING THROUGH YOUR MAILS

Our lives are rushed, and so is our inbox. Always full of new mails and information, our inbox tends to cluster up and that’s exactly why checking your emails in the morning can be detrimental to your health. It could make you panic or stressed right away so it’s okay to leave the “check my mail” to-do for some hours after waking up.

LEAVING THE BED UNMADE

Sure, we’re all at home and the bed can wait. But it’s better if you don’t. You still have a day ahead to seize and leaving your bed messy for the whole day can quite literally change your mindset for the entire day. Start organized and tidy by making your bed as soon as you’ve stretched.

NOT HYDRATING YOUR BODY

Our bodies don’t hydrate for as long as we sleep, so hydrating first thing in the morning can be really helpful for your body and brain to alert itself and get ready for the day! Try something new each morning, such as fruit water or lemon water. You could also always keep a water bottle next to you so you can drink some first thing in the morning.

Stay safe, and stay healthy.
